    Not many colleges complain about St. Patty's Day stereotyping the Irish now do they?

    Ironically enough, the two Mexican families that live near me go all out for the 4th of July when others real red blooded 'Mericans do not. They decorate, have parties, and shoot off illegal fireworks like nobody I have ever seen. It is like Shock and Awe has rolled onto my hood when they start shooting their fireworks. I kind of like it except for all the missile debris that lands in my yard. My house full of dogs, not so much. Saves us a trip to see the official fireworks show though.

    No one is forced to celebrate any holiday.

    The Thanks given became a holiday in the 1800 hundreds every state was celebrating it by 1863 . 30 years after the trail of tears took place .

    I'd argue its not a real holiday if its not offensive to someone.

    But in all seriousness, you can make anything offensive if you apply enough Marxist/post-modern thought to it. Why anyone particularly chooses to make an ass out of themselves looking to turn anything and everything into a question of racism/oppression, I have no idea. Maybe they are just trying to hide the fact that they really have nothing interesting to say about the world.

    How exactly are the offensive? And if any holiday in the nation should be recognized it is the 4th of July....It's kind of an important day to the Nation.
