Re: Are you proud to be American/citizen of your country?

I am proud my ancestors had the good sense to migrate to this country when they did. That afforded me and my family the opportunities to live and prosper in one of the greatest countries on the planet ( I might be a bit biased in this claim ) Since that time we assimilated to the ideals of the founders of this country and never looked back. I have never visited my ancestors homeland but would based on pure curiosity, not because I would want to live there.

I am not a world traveler so I can not say I have experienced a lot of other culture outside our borders, but I try to get along with everyone no matter the nationality or ideals. That said based on what I know from media and personal knowledge, I can't think of another country I would rather be.

I am proud to be an American and love my country. Some days I feel like it is changing so much that I do not identify with it as much as I did, but that is my struggle. Although there are things going on I don't like I still feel this is the best place for me.

I'm sure Germany has it's attributes, I mean you do make really great villains in the movies.

    (sorry couldn't help myself)

It is on my list of places I want to visit.
Unfortunately, most of the great German villains in movies were British actors.

No. My mother persuaded my father to move down south, so they are in SC now. Pretty sure it kills my dad.

No, I was born here. That's not something to take pride or shame in

It wasn't my achievement. Pride is a vice anyway.

Sure I am, my parents worked very hard after immigrating here and the American way of life did well by them, and me. Sure I'm proud to be an American.

If I could combine the first and third option that would fit perfectly. I'm proud to be an American and will surely tell anyone that's wondering on the subject. BUT, this place has things to fix.

I'm not proud to have simply been born in this particular region of the world, but I am proud of my accomplishments. Many of which would probably not be possible had I been born into another culture, or nation.
I love the NSA. It's like having a secret fan-base you will never see, but they're there, watching everything you write and it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside knowing that I may be some person's only form of unconstitutional entertainment one night.
