The impeachment of the President I didn't vote for disgusted me, but I was still partial to GWB, until I learned too much about him. That, and although I did not vote for Clinton, I thought he did a good job, so why not Gore. I think I was very, very much correct on that call.

2004 Presidential primary, (had no other choice on my ballot, it was G.W. Bush.) Definitely wasn't going to cast my vote for someone who backed stabbed me and millions of other American troops who were on the battlefields of Vietnam.

You would do better to assume that folks like you took over the party and made it into a revolting thing that actively worked to harm the country.

Actually the conservative base lost control of the GOP back around 1996 or was it in 1998 ?

The GOP started moving to the left when many liberals with in the Democrat Party fled that party and came under the GOP tent during the 1970's when the radical left gained control of the Democrat Party. Those liberals were the beginning of the neoconservative movement.

By the mid and late 1980's the Democrat Party had moved so far to the radical left, that even the Reagan Democrats started to flee the Democrat Party. Many became independent swing voters.

Wow, that statement is like a sci-fi alternate history novel.

Same. Exact same on all accounts. I kinda halfass believed Obama might possibly be smarter when it came to things like marijuana or pointlessly starting new wars, but then he got elected and I knew I would regret voting for him. But I can always find comfort in the fact that I was voting against McCain and the Republicans for their treatment of Ron Paul. After his 2012 campaign I give up on the political system. I don't believe in it anymore, I think it's fake. And I think you have to be fake in order to have a shot. That's why I'm not excited about Rand Paul. The closer he gets to victory the faker he'll have to be, just like Obama.

The election of Gore in 2000 would not have stopped 9/11 and a Gore Presidency would have seen so much global warming/enviromental protection initiatives that your country and perhaps the world would have been in permanent recession and perhaps double digit inflation as many of the necessities of life as we know it became too expensive to consume.

Better to let Gore as a private citizen scam $10s of millions from the naive and impressionable than to have him bankrupt the economy as a whole.

As for Clinton's impeachment, I don't disagree - as for GWB, can't imagine what you "learned" about him that would have made him less viable than Gore.

    I voted Obama both times.
