It is documented that unmarried women vote mostly for the DNC candidate so just out of curiosity I am wondering how that stacks up in here.
It has been 4 hours since I posted this question and not a single response. Single I think is the operative word here. Sometimes no response is more informative than a hundred answers. I think it's safe to assume that somewhere between most and all of the women obama voters in here are not married. The statistics IRL seem to be true in here too.
This thread is why I don't live in the middle of nowhere.

Since when is a lack of interest in you post, grounds to assume most female voters(on this forum) who went for the President are single? Is that some sort of technical new way of collecting data that I just missed in college? Or is it possible your poll was too narrow? For instance, I am liberal, single, but in a long term relationship and wrote in a vote for Jon Huntsman. I couldn't answer your poll, but are not a part of your assumption. I also don't think I'm in the minority when I say your poll was too narrow to answer.

I've been happily married for over twenty years....so I guess that blows your whole theory, doesn't it, sawyer? ROTFL
Fair point in that I should have put "other" for a choice but I really tried to cover the gamut. Heck I even made a place for committed lesbians.Really though the poll was for lib women that voted for obama. I think this thread got the cold shoulder because it is fact that single women are a huge voting block for Dem presidential candidates and I think most of the hard core lib women in here are single and are annoyed at the question. The few married women that voted for obama know this is true and likely feel it is better to ignore the poll rather than have just two or three married women show up. I guess it's kind of an embarrassing stat that makes lib women very uncomfortable.
Well, as a lib women, I must say, doesn't make me uncomfortable at all. I think its fairly obvious (to me at least, I can't speak for others), why single women tend to vote Democratic. Conservatives are just that, conservative. The impression they give off through their political action, is that new/different is bad. The fact is, single women have only really had a significant & lasting place in the American economy for about 30 years. Little has changed about the Republican parties values in that time. There is a perception, that if the GOP had it's way, the only women who would hold office, would be stay at home mom's with kids who are grown. I'm not saying it accurate, but the general vibe, is that republicans don't care about the new problems facing single women in the world today, because if they just went off and got married, they wouldn't have to deal with them. The world continues to change whether conservatives like it or not. Damning those who enjoy those changes, only alienates voting bloc and send them straight to the other side.
The stat may be accurate, but it don't think its accurate because of the reasons you think.

And the reason I think is?
Liberal women are naive, gullible, and impressionable. They believe what the loudest soapbox tells them to believe - and that just happens to be Democrats.
Not to mention that the Democratic party has all the dreeeeeeeeeeamy boys.
LOL!!! I see you clearly don't live in reality, but your posts always make me laugh. Thanks for the giggle Gipper!

Slight hyperbole aside, I'm not exactly wrong. Granted, Republicans say some dumb crap, but you have to admire the Democrats for fooling women into the idea that Republicans declared "war" on them.
The concept that Republican women are "barefoot and pregnant" is beyond antiquated.
Your absolutely right here, that statement was far too general, and not what I meant to convey. What I should have said, is that I don't think the statistics support the conservatives narrative I hear most often. I should not have made it sound like I was presuming to know your interpretation of the statistics. I apologize
Here: I can make more accurate assumptions regarding the female interest in your post - and lack of responses from such.
#1: People in general tend to overlook 'for ___ only' posts. By and large - they tend to receive lesser attention and that in itself is debated here.
#2: The majority of women on this forum are either a) employed during the day, b) occupied otherwise with things such as college during the day, c) mothers with children at home, d) a mix of the previous three factors.
#3: Didn't fit into one of your four categories.
I don't consider myself liberal - nor am I conservative . . . because those labels cover a broad spectrum of views, I don't fully fit into either and have serious issues with those who are entirely cookie-cutter and fit perfectly. Also, I didn't vote for Obama, nor did I vote for Romney. So aside being Moderate, Married, b and c, as well as the fact that I just tend to avoid polls in general . . . your post and poll lacks considerably.
Thus why I didn't care to respond twice today when I glanced at it.
You are not a lib, the poll was not for you. Take a hike missy.
