So my own curiosity begs the question, why do you think that most single women vote Democratic?

Well maybe it's just because they are generally young and young people tend to vote Dem but I think there is more to it than that. I don't believe young women always have voted Dem. I think with certain presidents like Kennedy, Clinton and now obama there is an infatuation that sets in with the young unmarried women. Power is sexually attractive to them and these powerful younger presidents get their hormones raging.

I'm just saying it was a clear case of a man in a powerful positions having sex with a young intern and any CEO in America would have been fired for such behavior. It was the ultimate example of the boss chasing his secretary around the desk and should have repelled young working women but for some reason they loved it.

I would agree completely, if the woman wasn't a semiprofessional ho looking to get some "evidence" on him. No one, no one, doesn't wash their clothes if they are spattered with sperm, even if the sperm came from the president.........................

Good evening, Bonz. :2wave:

The problem was not who was doing what to whom in the Oval Office. The fact that Clinton lied to the American people is what led to the impeachment proceedings. If memory serves me correctly, Senator Byrd had the deciding vote, and while he stated that he didn't agree with what Clinton had done, he didn't want his vote to be the one that would impeach any President, and he voted no. I don't recall Lewinsky ever being portrayed as a virgin.

On the contrary the libs painted her as a seductress and a wanton slut who had her way with poor billy.

Here: I can make more accurate assumptions regarding the female interest in your post - and lack of responses from such.

#1: People in general tend to overlook 'for ___ only' posts. By and large - they tend to receive lesser attention and that in itself is debated here.
#2: The majority of women on this forum are either a) employed during the day, b) occupied otherwise with things such as college during the day, c) mothers with children at home, d) a mix of the previous three factors.
#3: Didn't fit into one of your four categories.

I don't consider myself liberal - nor am I conservative . . . because those labels cover a broad spectrum of views, I don't fully fit into either and have serious issues with those who are entirely cookie-cutter and fit perfectly. Also, I didn't vote for Obama, nor did I vote for Romney. So aside being Moderate, Married, b and c, as well as the fact that I just tend to avoid polls in general . . . your post and poll lacks considerably.

Thus why I didn't care to respond twice today when I glanced at it.

I just thought of something,I started a poll once for men only and you were the first one to respond. HA!

LOL - but I didn't poll, did I?

I probably said something like 'I'm not a guy but . . .' :D

Yes, but you're forgetting that everyone is entitled to my opinion.

You absolutely are!! The tone of your response made it sound as if you thought I had asked you. I just wanted to make the point that I had not, and was legitimately interested is sawyerloggingon's perspective, but he generally has insightful things to say.

Interesting. Especially because, it makes me wonder then, how young, single, and for the purposes of this discussion, straight men, decide what candidate to support. It obviously wouldn't be a hormonal reaction, so could be more about emulation? Is it more about who a young man can relate to, and who's life looks most appealing? Would you say that's a fair assessment?

You know that just could be to some degree. I admired Reagan working on his ranch and Bush mt biking. I felt like we were on the same wave length.

It is documented that unmarried women vote mostly for the DNC candidate so just out of curiosity I am wondering how that stacks up in here.

I am fiscally conservative, and socially liberal, and if I'm not voting libertarian, it is almost always for the conservative on the ticket.

Heh. They go for the D.

EDIT: God dammit Hautey.

So, what do you think would happen if a young, women (not Sarah Palin), ran as the Republican candidate? Do you think there would be a shift in the young male vote? Is a powerful women not as appealing to men, as a powerful man is to a women?

I'm truly grateful that i don't have to make a choice of who to vote for amongst your candidates. I will say though, having been a member here for 2.5 years, i've rarely seen anyone go on about how sexually attracted they are to Obama but if i had a dollar for everytime someone mentioned how hot Sarah Palin was, i could probably retire early.

I think you were on to something with your previous post but I think young horney men would be put off by a powerful woman president.

Women are just more sexually subtle. Sarah is hot though and I would gladly do her but she would not get my vote unless maybe it was a sex for your vote deal then.....:)

Interesting...... Do you think it's fair to say that men generally don't find powerful women sexually attractive? I feel like that is my experience, but I don't like to make assumptions, and can't possibly know what the world looks like from a man's eyes.

I would say in general a man likes to be the one with more power whatever that is these days, better job etc I guess. I don't think too many janitors are thinking of a long term relationship with the woman executive who's office he cleans but to be fair she isn't looking at him that way either. Sexually attractive is maybe another story though. The janitor may be thinking, WOW what a hottie and she may be thinking WOW what a stud but it likely will never go further than that.

Not at all. I never said all obama voting women were single just most. Congrats on your long marriage, it's rare these days.:)

uh huh....

Not a personal attack an observation. Lonely single women with no love life of their own were a huge voting block for Clinton and have now gone with Obama. I have a relative in Calif who is an obama worshiper that I swear to God has a huge pic of him framed in her living room. She is a lonely no life no husband liberal.

Well, I wouldn't be surprised if your relative had a few observations about you too, Sawyer. But one observation does not an entire demographic of voters make.

Moot I only said that cuz you bring out the worst in me. True story about my niece in Calif though.

So where do you think hormonal appeal and political party overlap? If young women tend to vote Democrat, why doesn't you young Republican get any traction? Paul Ryan was much young then the President or Vice President, and he didn't seem to have the same appeal. Why do you think that is?

Single women are more career focused and liberated from the bonds of the phallocentric institution of modern American marriage. Of course they are going to support the policy that supports women in the work place.

The phallocentric institution.

The phallocentric institution.

I'm going to work that into a conversation with my wife tongiht. Somehow.

You know what, ya got me there, I'll have to sleep on it. Right now I'm off to the front porch with a glass of wine. I have enjoyed our conversation, you seem like a nice lady. Good night.:)

It has been 4 hours since I posted this question and not a single response. Single I think is the operative word here. Sometimes no response is more informative than a hundred answers. I think it's safe to assume that somewhere between most and all of the women obama voters in here are not married. The statistics IRL seem to be true in here too.
On a forum where threads live for weeks, you should maybe give it the night before looking for real responses.
