Do You Have a Partisan Bias?

Simple enough question. By my calculation only about 4 of us should answer yes.

Really, not a simple question. You can't have a 3rd position on everything so sometimes your allied with one partys philosophy or the others but do we then call it "partisan"? I consider myself non-partisan but sometimes I'm allied with even the most radical among us. So help me understand how much consistency is required.

Of course I have a partisan bias. I think every one does.

I'm with speckle on this. Technically unless you are entirely apathetic to everything, you have to answer yes. And if you're entirely apathetic, you won't be on this board.

The question should be is which bias do you stick to more often than not?

I think if you're allied with the same party all the time, you might have a partisan bias.

Then you're right, almost nobody is partisan by your definition. I think the biggest conflict is fiscal vs. social issues. Even then, you can be fiscally conservative on some issues but not on others. You end up with a lot of sub-categories so it's hard to be "partisan".

    No.

Partisan: A strong supporter of a party, cause, or person.

Bias: Prejudice in favor of or against one thing, person, or group compared with another, usually in a way considered to be unfair.

I am in favor of the causes I support, the people I support, and the party I support. That gives me a partisan bias. However, I sometimes disagree with what the party I support does, and the people I support.

Of course. Mine just happen to be sometimes unpopular, authoritarian, anti-democratic, elitist, and ageist.

I manage it quite well. In fact, it seem to come almost naturally to me.

Re: Do You Have a Partisan Bias?

I have a Moderate Republican Bias which is rare these days. I often find myself debating many members of my own party... That being said, I consider anybody who has any type of agenda to have bias. You cannot possibly be apathetic on every single issue! Yet they claim they are by stating that they are independents or whatever. So-called independents and/or libertarians usually fall under this category, some disenfranchised conservatives do as well. Studying the habits of these other forms of bias leads me to the conclusion that independents aren't really independent, they are pushing their own sometimes worse agendas. You can always tell if one has liberal and/or conservative leanings...

There's no greater irony than a Trump supporter pointing out hypocrisy; Unless it's Trump himself.
