Partisan bias, not so much. Bias to my own opinion, certainly.

I voted yes, though I'm not too sure on how we're defining this. I certainly lean left and see things from that perspective. Democrats fit those beliefs closer, though often are not different enough from republican to actually represent liberal ideals. I also don't believe republicans are of worse moral fiber than democrats. Both parties have serious moral, intellectual, and ethical issues.

AUSTAN GOOLSBEE: I think the world vests too much power, certainly in the president, probably in Washington in general for its influence on the economy, because most all of the economy has nothing to do with the government.

I don't believe I have a "partisan" bias although I do have a conservative bias, a Canadian conservative bias. Like most Canadians, I believe in smaller government and personal freedoms - we believe the government should stay our of our wallets and out of our bedrooms.

That said, most American Democrats believe in a government solution for every problem, regardless the cost, including solving society's social issues with government intervention, so I'm not often in favor of what they propose. However, many American Republicans, while claiming to believe in smaller government are awfully busy trying to legislate morality and personal behavior. Their lower taxes message, letting people keep more of their own money, is a good message - too bad they can't bring themselves to stick with the fiscal message and knock off with the judgement police routine.

Sure I don't really know of any conservatives in the Democratic Party, I believe in conservatism and adhering to the limitations of the Constitution. But I can be fair, and from time to time I disagree with people on our side, or those on our side who fail to support conservative principles. Sometimes I even give the Left a break when I think an allegation is unwarranted.

I don't believe this accurately describes most Canadians. Most Canadians I've spoken with are strong advocates of their health care system, which is a big government program that reaches into their wallets.

    Depends on who you ask.

When posting, I rely only on facts, objectivity and common sense - what many on the left refer to as "conservative bias"

Of course...it's human nature. The question is do you make a conscience effort to recognize your nature and take that into account?

Nope, I think partisans are uninformed when it comes to politics. If they were informed, they wouldn't be partisans. The two ideas are mutually exclusive.
