    As currently defined, so long as he was born on U.S. soil, he is an American citizen regardless of the citizenship or legality of his parents. I think that needs to change though, one should only be a natural citizen if at least one of your parents is a citizen in good standing, regardless of where you are physically dropped.
    There is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide the world that cannot be achieved more rationally through entirely secular means.

    Rubio was born in 1971. His parents became citizens in 1975. Therefore, Marco Rubio could not be a Natural Born Citizen according to this definition as his parents were not US citizens at the time of his birth.

    Article II Section 1 of the US Constitution reads: No person except a natural born citizen or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of the President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty five years, and been fourteen years a resident within the United States.

    Amendment 14 Section 1 reads: All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside.

    Pretty simple, if Rubio was born in the U.S. regardless of what citizenship his parents held is a U.S. citizen. Throw in the requirement that he be 35 years old and if he is, he is eligible.

    Note of interest, the SCOTUS ruled back in 1963 or early 1964 that a person born in a U.S. territory is also a citizen. This ruling was a result of Barry Goldwater being challenged as being ineligible to run for the presidency since he born in the Arizona Territory before it became a state. So a person from Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Island etc since they are U.S. territories could in fact run for the presidency as they are considered via this ruling as being U.S. citizens born in the U.S.

But for way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.

    Possibly this threat is. But the natural born citizen of the United States thing was tried 50 years ago on the Republican Presidential Candidate of 1964.     Rubio has damaged himself so badly trying to sell the "Gang of Eight" amnesty plan that his birthplace will be an irrelevancy. Cruz has replaced Rubio and deservedly so.

    I'm just trying to turn the rationale back on the birthers. If Obama's not a Natural Born Citizen, neither is Marco Rubio.

    Personally, I'm of the belief that both are.

    C'mon. You know that no one gave a **** about this until Obama. Did Romney's foreign born dad who ran have this kind of outrage? That said, it would be nice to get some codified clarification so this stupid topic can finally die.
