Obama ran for a second term largely on the story that Alquiada had been decimated on his watch. Then when terrorist linked to Alquiada attacked a US embassy and killed the Ambassador along with several other Americans Obama lied to the voters and said it was a spontaneous demonstration that got out of hand and was caused by a you tube video. Now that it has come out that he flat out lied and was told by the CIA it was indeed terrorism and now that it has come out that he told the CIA to delete all references to terrorism it seems he was elected for a second term largely based on a lie. It could be argued that if the voters knew from the beginning that terrorist did this it very well could have swung the election. Does this make him a president elected under false pretenses and therefor illegitimate? They took away Lance Armstrong's medals for breaking the rules and lying about it and erased all his records calling them illegitimate so what's the difference here?

Okay, I laughed.

Where's the poll?

I would say that when some places have 100% turn out for the firsttime in history and 99% of those votes all go to him would be far more of an indicator that he is "illegitimate" as a president since it clearly would lead one to the idea that there may have been a bit of voter fraud going on.

Obama might very well be a incompetent and duplicitous commander and chief, but I don't see any way you could claim that he was an "illegitimate" president. If the American people people were dumb enough to vote the man into office twice in spite of his administration's complete and total failure to produce any kind of positive economic, social, political, or military outcome on either a domestic or international basis, that is hardly his fault.

As the old saying goes, "fool me once, shame on you." "Fool me twice..."

If people were dumb enough to vote the man into office twice in spite of his complete and total failure to achieve any kind of meaningful positive economic, political, or military outcomes on a domestic or international basis, that is hardly his fault.

You have to admit though....

Well, that is the power of Free Obamaphones--they come in black or white dontcha know.

There are rarely any "fair" presidential elections. The shark gets jumped nearly every time I can recall.

There are about a dozen words starting with "i" that I could use to accurately describe Obama.

Illegitimate is not one of them.

The big difference is that you're dreaming.

Barack Obama will be in the White House until the next Democratic President takes over in 2017.

Deal with it.

You know... I'm honestly not sure whether Bush was actually as dumb as people made him out to be, or whether he simply had a strange sense of humor and absolutely terrible comedic timing.

It almost sounded like he was trying to make some kind of joke, but lost confidence halfway through.

Anyone who calls Bush "dumb" needs to have copies and pictures of at least two Ivy League degrees with his or her name on them.

After all, he has them. No other POTUS does. Not Carter (lol), not Slick Willie, not any of them. None.

I think he just had a brain fart. I have done lots of public speaking in my time and about every two years or so I will be going along smoothly and my mind empties. It is horrible. Potus is filmed everytime they speak - It would be near impossible to go through a term without of few of these moments. I suspect he has above average intelligence - not too far above averge mind you. :)

You have made an accusation.

Now you need to either provide us with some proof or retract your egregious lie.

True. It's also not like Obama hasn't had his fair share of gaffes where public speaking is concerned either. He simply has the benefit of a sympathetic media which is willing to "look the other way."

G.W. Bush is not the smartest guy on this planet, But he's not dumb.

Bush was VERY smart politically, but I don't think he was terribly interested in policy so seemed not too bright when trying to discuss it.

I think "incurious" was a good description as it relates to policy. Whatever a wonk is, he was the opposite. But that is not a reflection on his IQ, just his interests.

OTOH, I think an Executive incurious about policy is not likely to serve us well.

Oh you definitely won't hear me argue his intellectual merits in some Dr. Hawking light.

Bush's issues were mostly based on maturity and entitlement. Bush is a political family in America. He's a legacy child. When your dad's a former POTUS, you instantly become a popular choice for U.S. Senator or Governor of your state of choice (according to lean). Dubya had Texas. Jeb had Florida. Those drunk ass twins will probably end up being elected somewhere too, eventually.

I would elaborate on maturity but...see above. It's not too far off of that base.

Obama won
get over it

this election was the GOP's for the taking. and the republicans snatched defeat from the jaws of victory by running a milk toast ticket

and this is just the start
in 2016 a woman will win the presidential election
and Elizabeth Warren will kick some substantial republican ass over two terms

you may want to emigrate somewhere whiter and avoid having to endure such diversity

Instead of trying to kick out the guy that the Democrats put in the White House the GOP needs to find someone that they can put in the White House.

LMAO

You DO realize that Columbia is an Ivy League university, as is Harvard Law.

Can you think of a POTUS who has degrees from these two institutions?

Vote was astronomical for Obama in some Philadelphia wards - Philly.com for one, now you have lead, do more research yourself. Since you didn't even know of it in the first place, I would say that you do not read various sources. So, which of the heavily biased liberal sources does a "good centrist" consider to be unbiased? Fox News also had an article about it.
