Just curious.

Also, if you're comfortable sharing:
  1. What do you pay monthly (rent, mortgage, HOA, taxes)?
  2. How many sq. ft. (total, per occupant, lot size)?
  3. Urban, suburban, rural?

1. 1380 ish, 200 a year, 4200 a year
2. 3100
3. Suburb

Not sure how to answer-- I live in public housing, so I pay some of my rent and I live independently.

Just curious.

Total rent is $375 per month. I pay $179 of it. I have no idea what my square footage is, but it's a pretty good sized apartment for one bedroom. And I suppose the closest guess for what kind of neighborhood it is is "suburban". It's in downtown Cheyenne, across the street from the public library.

What do you pay monthly (rent, mortgage, HOA, taxes)? About $200 monthly HOA, Insurance, taxes without repair allowance.
How many sq. ft. (total, per occupant, lot size)? Town House 1220 SF
Urban, suburban, rural? Inner city.

My mortgage has an escrow so...120 per month HOA? Give or take...

1200 per month mortgage. Suburban, and, honestly, not sure about the size...pretty small, though. 2 story with a basement, so...3 story?

It's on a 1/4 acre, which in CT, is a decent size lot.

Hmm...None of the options apply.

1. - - - $2800/yr
2. 1750 SF
3. technically urban but not really

No mortgage, no HOA, approximately $1,200/year in taxes

2,500 sq ft on 1 1/2 acres

Suburban...

House is paid for
about $500 tax a year
1100 sq ft house about 1/2 acre.
In town (if you could call it that)

Why you ask do you work for the IRS?

i am basically buying my house from my family, and the deal is quite good; they aren't in it to make money at all. the house is small, but it's almost mine. i will stay here for a while unless i'm forced to move due to career circumstances. i'm not eager to do this, as the house has lost roughly half of its value in the time i've been here, and a ton of money has been spent on upkeep. however, i like my house, and it's one of the places where i feel the most comfortable. it's a great bachelor pad, and it's very me.

rent small 5 room old farm house for $325 monthly. built in the late 30's.
about 900 sq ft of space, acre plus lot which is great.
on the edge of the city, more country then anything.

Just curious.

$695 plus $15 for "cat rent." Decent one-bedroom. Can't recall the exact footage. I think about 575? It's just me and a kitty. Central urban location, top floor, of course.

I wouldn't complain about a different kitchen design, but otherwise, it's a pretty nice place for a solo gal.

Own one home, have mortgage on another, I have no idea how much equity, might be slightly underwater purchased it prior to the housing bubble burst.

Just curious.

Cant really answer the poll due to my unique situation. I own my home, but we moved out of it due to neighborhood going down the tubes. Lived there for over 20 years. We rented a house on the outskirts of town that is in a much better neighborhood. We rented because we are moving out of state this summer and didn't want to buy something else we would need to sell.

So basically my answer is own 100% equity and rent a different home I live in with my wife and daughter.

Forgot to add:

Rent is $850 a month

Sq Feet- 3500

Rural

Own. House about 2500 sq ft. on 635 acres. Homestead tax is about $1000.00 per year. Raised 2 girls and 1 boy now it's just me my wife 4 Rot/Lab mix, lost count of how many cats but have no mice or snakes. The closest walmart is 59 miles away. The closest major HWY is 10 miles away.

Amusingly enough, I suspect there are at least 2 and possibly up to 4 wal-marts within 59 miles of where I live - though I live in a rural area.

In my mind, I live in a mansion.

See it, get it, live it.

I still don't see my villa on the Sardinian coast, so I'd say I'm living as a pauper.................

I don't pay for it cause financial aid but:

$740/mo rent ($200/mo until fall)
700 (single apartment)
small city/college town

OK I'm about 25% equity in my house.

I pay $865 a month, and that includes regular insurance and flood insurance. We don't pay taxes because my husband is a disabled vet, but we pay $200 a year in HOA dues. Next year will go up to $400 a year because we want to put in a pool at the amenities center. Also, our house payment, including insurance, is so much cheaper than rent. SO much cheaper. Even when we paid property taxes, it was still significantly cheaper.

We are about 2,800 sf. 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, a finished upstairs bonus room which could also count as a 5th bedroom, or a den.

Suburban.

Suburb subdivision, 1.5 acres, 4300 sq ft. 1600 PITI for a few more years. Just 1 person

I have about 90% equity in a rural property (12 acres with a smallish house), but it will be owned outright soon. No HOA, taxes a little over $4000 per year. enclosed living spaces approx 1500 square foot, but that includes a separate laundry/ craft room, and another separate workshop. The house itself is small.
