    1. What do you pay monthly (rent, mortgage, HOA, taxes)?
    2. How many sq. ft. (total, per occupant, lot size)?
    3. Urban, suburban, rural?
$695 plus $15 for "cat rent." Decent one-bedroom. Can't recall the exact footage. I think about 575? It's just me and a kitty. Central urban location, top floor, of course.

I wouldn't complain about a different kitchen design, but otherwise, it's a pretty nice place for a solo gal.

Own one home, have mortgage on another, I have no idea how much equity, might be slightly underwater purchased it prior to the housing bubble burst.

Cant really answer the poll due to my unique situation. I own my home, but we moved out of it due to neighborhood going down the tubes. Lived there for over 20 years. We rented a house on the outskirts of town that is in a much better neighborhood. We rented because we are moving out of state this summer and didn't want to buy something else we would need to sell.

So basically my answer is own 100% equity and rent a different home I live in with my wife and daughter.

    Forgot to add:

    Rent is $850 a month

    Sq Feet- 3500

Own. House about 2500 sq ft. on 635 acres. Homestead tax is about $1000.00 per year. Raised 2 girls and 1 boy now it's just me my wife 4 Rot/Lab mix, lost count of how many cats but have no mice or snakes. The closest walmart is 59 miles away. The closest major HWY is 10 miles away.
I confess, I did it, I let the dogs out.

Amusingly enough, I suspect there are at least 2 and possibly up to 4 wal-marts within 59 miles of where I live - though I live in a rural area.

I still don't see my villa on the Sardinian coast, so I'd say I'm living as a pauper.................

Re: Housing poll. What's your situation?

OK I'm about 25% equity in my house.

I pay $865 a month, and that includes regular insurance and flood insurance. We don't pay taxes because my husband is a disabled vet, but we pay $200 a year in HOA dues. Next year will go up to $400 a year because we want to put in a pool at the amenities center. Also, our house payment, including insurance, is so much cheaper than rent. SO much cheaper. Even when we paid property taxes, it was still significantly cheaper.

We are about 2,800 sf. 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, a finished upstairs bonus room which could also count as a 5th bedroom, or a den.

    Suburban.
