He didn't kill in a "cleaner way, so why in the heck should he get special treatment? You get what you give in life!
Wouldn't something like lowering his body in a vat of 13.5 pH KOH, at a rate of 5mm/hr, be a better punishment, and remain clean?

Again, screw keeping it clean. He needs to see his flesh splatter against the walls like he's inflicted upon others.

I understand your viewpoint, but that pain would only list for milliseconds.

Being lowered in KOH, the pain would last for some time...

Wow.

Why do people make polls with unreasonable answers?

How is this unreasonable?? He's going to receive a trial. I'm merely asking opinions of the people on this forum on what they believe would be the proper punishment of this individual. If you are referring to the punishments, they were written as comedic relief.

I'm not sure if this has already been discussed so I'm just to go give it a shot...

What should be done with Dzhokhar Tsarnaev?

Damn it people the punishments were meant for comedic relief!!!

I am really cautions around people who think talking about the death penalty is comical. I have to really wonder about such people's moral values. Definitely, a poor sense of humor.

I don't find it cruel or unusual to accept the fact that sometimes, you just have to kill some people so that they can't damage your society.

Try him. Convict him. Kill him.

The drawing is a rendering of a SuperMax cell. It serves the purpose of keeping him in rather than keeping him safe although it certainly does that as well.

Much as we hate the criminals in these cells, in some cases it is unsafe for them to be allowed human company. Legally and morally, people in custody must be protected, even from suicide, no matter how we (outsiders) feel about it.

Lets say by some horrible misapplication of justice you were to spend the rest of your life in there or be "put to sleep". Which would you choose?

Why does he deserve protection from the general prison population?

Too expensive. death sentence, or put him with the hard core criminals.

when found guilty, execute him and be done with it

Again, that will never happen because the condemned is allowed an appeals process.
Did I say anything about eliminating that process?

Please don't assume what I mean. Please ask. I get irritated rather easily over such assumptions.

Well how do you propose to "speed up" the process than?

Oh well! That's your problem, not mine.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev played a major role in the Boston bombings and he assembled the bombs in his brother's apartment and planted them near the finish line along with his dead brother who was the mastermind of the terror plot and it may be hard for Dzhokhar to escape the death penalty, considering the severity of the crime he committed. But the FBI's current focus is extracting as much information as possible from the surviving bomber and his Chechen connections should be investigated further to prevent another terror plot originating from Chechnya. He told authorities that Katherine Russell "played no role in the April 15 blasts" and Russell's DNA did not match the DNA found on fragments from one of the bombs and the FBI could eliminate her from the list of potential co-consiprators of the terror plot.

It'll never happen. It's a very complicated and involved process to make sure that they are getting it right. You want to get it right when you're going to kill someone, no?

I could counter argue the same point when sending someone to prison.

Again, I will claim it is worse for an innocent person to go to prison than die. I at least feel that way. I consider that cruel and unusual punishment for the innocent.

No procedure is perfect, and there will seldom be an absolute right or wrong. I say we accept that mistakes happen.

It is pretty amazing that you would claim that on someone else's behalf.

You should really stick to yourself when making such claims. It would be worse for YOU perhaps.

Yes, maybe I am wrong in believing so many others feel as I do.

What do you imagine prison is like for the innocent? What if it was you? Please ponder that for a bit.

I imagine it's not any fun at all, but there have been plenty of innocent who have fought to be released and eventually have been and I don't think they wished they would have died. The strong can survive. I don't think I would give up on fighting for my freedom and just want to give up and die.

Besides, my reasons for being against the death penalty are not necessarily due to any kind of sympathy towards the convict, unless they truly are innocent. I don't believe that to be the case here. I'm pretty darn sure this guy is guilty with a capital G.
