But in the end that is still a subset of government. By calling it public that means that is is open to all with out restrictions, save maybe operating times. But a private business is just that, private and should be treated the same as all other private property. Now I might accept an argument that if the business posts a sign, "Open to the Public" then it is advertising itself as no restrictions, and any discrimination is a basis for calling false advertising.

A business is a business. Either that private photographer cannot discriminate on the basis of whatever, or your so-called "public" businesses can. I don't see how one is different than the other.
I agree legally it would be tough to define but i think it need done. We all have to play by the same rules and i dont think that type of activity has any place in america.

I do fully admit i wouldnt know how to define which is which. To me it pretty much comes down to your operating place. Out of your home or on your property that is also your home, fine. Store with signs and lights and a open sign, to bad.

I guess why i consider them different is just like you said. On the corner with signs and hours of operation etc i have no reason not to walk in there because your whole layout invites the public in. Same thing between the difference of home and store. If i just walk into you home i could get shot and killed and maybe nothing would happen. You shoot me for just walking into your BUSINESS you have a lot of explaining to do and are probably going to jail for ever lol

The point is these differences already exist in ways so i think thats where to start.

I could just never support people discriminating in that fashion with a public business. If you are that mentally deranged and or ignorant simply dont open a public business why would you.

No one has the stones to speak out about it though - or, they don't want to tarnish their public image.

I certainly have the stones and I speak out against it all the time.
There is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide the world that cannot be achieved more rationally through entirely secular means.

I do too. What I think the world needs is a person who is in the national spotlight, someone who can be seen by all via the media or other sources, to speak out about it. I wonder what the backlash would be...

Lots of people have done it, it hasn't changed a thing. Bill Cosby was quite critical of it, people ignored him or called him and Uncle Tom.

Thanks for explaining that I'm not a liberal. We are getting ready to sell a home we expect to get about 170k for that we bought for 92k short sale 11 months ago. And we are not arguing for any saving of the people that bought it or the banks that wrote them mortgages. But we voted for Obama etc. Gee, then what are we?

So if members of a certain religion become the majority in a division of a corporation and promote, protect, etc., people of their religion over others that are not members of their religion is that discrimination?
