would you vote for a gay presidential candidate ?

Yep, I'd have no problem with a gay president. Hell, we've probably already had at least one and didn't know it.

Of course. Who cares who he/she sleeps with?

*cough James Buchanan *cough*

depends on their position and who was running against them. They would have a tougher row to hoe with me though.

That would depend on his or her political views. Whether one is gay or not is not useful in determining suitability for the presidency.

Wouldn't impact my decision, it would depend entirely upon the issues they support. I'm not voting for or against someone because they are gay.

yes. i vote on policy positions, not sexual orientation.

Of course. Their sexual orientation would be the least of my concern. I'd vote for whoever i felt was the best Candidate for the position.

l wonder teh answers of some cons who usually criticize islamic countries for mistreating gays

If he promised to balance the budget and get our fiscal house in order, my number one hot button issue, you betcha. No problem as long as I viewed him the best candidate available which also includes third parties.

this is not the question.

Of course, if he/she is intelligent and holds positions similar to mine I would vote for them assuming the other person running against them wasn't more qualified to receive my vote.

The whole nation cares when he sleeps with someone other than his spouse, purgers himself, is impeached, and uses international conflict as a distraction.

I'd prefer a gay President. Better decorations at the White House for one thing.

Also, a gay President would likely get a WH cat instead of those awful, noisy dogs. More dignified.

this is not the question.
Sure it is. It is the essence of presidential viability. Sexuality has nothing whatever to do with it. If you're asking if I would vote for a presidential candidate I like even if he or she is gay, the answer is yes because I'm not voting for a life time partner, I'm voting for a politician.

anyone can understand the purpose of this poll...........

What are his positions on the issues?

Does it even matter though Jerry. Really? You're talking one issue here. He or she is just one person. I stopped thinking that the POTUS was the most powerful man in the world a long time ago. Their influence over any specific policy is always going to have substantial limits because there are so many other people who are empowered by the system (members of Congress etc).

Yes, it really matters.

How dare you even ask that question! The president's politics are all that matters. Not skin color, not religion, not sexual orientation, not gender. Their position on the issues are the sole concern.

In any given election I will vote for the Prez who seems most likely to
1. Steer the nation clear of any major disasters..
and/or...
2. Represent my views and political preferences best.
