He is still a little green and it shows so he's not going get any offers from bigger cities or the networks but its normal for new TV talent to start out in the hick towns while they improve.

He was out in a small market anyway. Bismarck isn't even the biggest market in North Dakota. You don't really get much smaller than that and still have a TV station.

He should have been fired because the station could get fined for that, but I hope it won't affect his long term career prospects.

Whispered under his breath but the mike picks up everything. On top of being nervous he was probably freaking out that he didn't know how to pronounce a word he had to say soon with the clock clicking.

In the big picture, getting all this attention was probably the best thing that could have happened to his career. AJ Clemente is now a national household name.

I don't think he his being kept on staff or fired affects FCC fines. The only concern with respect to fines would be is there a legitimate worry that it would like happen again.

It probably wouldn't affect the fines, but obviously it's unprofessional to put your employer at risk like that.

I agree. I think chewing his butt out would have been sufficient though. I also know this sort of thing, although embarrassing is not all that uncommon. Here's the rightest rated local TV station in America with a broadcast industry vet doing the exact same thing as this guy with 5 seconds of experience in the middle of nowhere, USA. OMG he said something so terrible and unheard of that it caused people suffering everywhere!

His co-anchor flubbed up her delivery worse than him after his tourette's moment, lol. He should've been reprimanded and apologized on air, period. I hate this crap where everything is censored by the word police. They've essentially ruined classic movies from the 80's and 90's and standup skits. They've substituted ubby dubby speak for the curse words, how lame.

How many times have people in Bismarck said the same thing as that anchor did? Probably every time they walk out the door.
