it shows a pretty high degree of professional incompetence on his first day. Most people would lose their jobs under similar circumstances

I voted no. Hence the latter statement that he'll hopefully get better.

And Oprah didn't start her career off spewing "****ing ****" on live television, at least as far as I know. So......

They probably weren't even paying him anyways. TV stations are notorious for using unpaid interns.

True and it probably helped him in his career. This morning on NBC's Today Show he was a featured guest allowed to explain himself to a national audience and even do the breakaway announcement. The staff there was very supportive. I'm sure he's getting offers from all over the country from smaller market stations. He is still a little green and it shows so he's not going get any offers from bigger cities or the networks but its normal for new TV talent to start out in the hick towns while they improve.

If he were any good I bet he'd be able to write his own check. He needs to work on his diction and being a better communicator. It sounds like he's reading when in TV although you're reading from a teleprompter its supposed to sound like you're taking one on one with people from your heart conversationally.

    Oh for heavens sake...

Its obvious the guy was nervous as...well...****ing ****...and he blurted out a few words inappropriately. Does he deserve to get fired? No. An apology...an explanation...a little bit of lambasting in good fun...and this thing would be old news. If he is good enough to be considered for an anchor position they might want to review his total resume and consider everything before they made such a dire action. Much ado about nothing.

It's done. He was fired Monday. Suspended immediately; the co-anchor apologized on air. I disagree with you. I cannot even imagine my relatively/maybe first day on the job describing anything I was doing as ****in' ****...much less being stupid enough to say it into a microphone and with his senior co-worker sitting right next to him.

The guy is a complete and total idiot.
The devil whispered in my ear, "You cannot withstand the storm." I whispered back, "I am the storm."
