I'm assuming the guy said, "****in' ****." At least that's what I thought I heard. Who would say that at a television station in the presence of co-workers his first day on-air? Poor judgment just in that regard alone - he was in a roomful of people, I'd guess. I can't imagine anyone I've ever worked with even saying that in an office setting -- much less with a microphone sitting in front of him -- and much less as a new hire. Gads.

Even in THAT market, people are no doubt standing in line all over the country for an on-air slot. Bad hire. Must be someone's nephew.

You got that interpretation right. At first people thought he said "gay" just before those two words, but he was trying to pronounce a name.

I see he was fired. Immediately suspended. Co-anchor apologized on 10 PM broadcast. Fired on Monday. He sure blew it. Painful lesson learned early.

Yes, he should have been fired. First off, he was supposed to be aware of it being potentially on at all times. Second, it was a very big first day error. Third, this was getting far too much attention.
    ya think?

I think it would have been o.k. if he had said "fornicating poopoo" instead.

How funny is it his co anchor introduced him as a new addition to their team. That sure was short lived.

Agreed. The man simply doesn't seem to be cut out for this kind of work.

Even if we ignore the f-bomb, his annunciation is slurred, his projection is weak, he obviously doesn't have a clear idea of what he's trying to say, and he quite clearly buckles easily under pressure. He's simply a bad public speaker.

Did they not interview this guy before hand?

Aw, cut the guy some slack. Everybody has first day jitters. In front of a camera, it's even worse. I had to do a commercial once for a dealership I worked it, and I was so scared, I almost puked. The owner never was satisfied with it, because I was so freaking scared. Noticeably scared.
