It's been brought up before.
I said then and I said now --
I have zero problem with any of this so long as we return to the scope of government which existed when he was President. Which means everything the government does now, which it didn't do in 1960, gets chucked.
If you balk at that, then putting this up is bull****.
But you see, it's the 1960s any more.long as we return to the scope of government which existed when he was President
But you see, it's the 1960s any more.
I have no idea what this means.
meant to say NOT the 60s anymore
Back then partisanship didn't matter as much as it did today. Kennedy, a Democrat, lowered taxes IIRC. It wasn't about following a strict party platform, it was each president doing what he thought was best for the time.
This is a bit romantic. Partisan politics mattered a great deal back then as well. Just as much, if not more so.

Fun Fact: The US interstate highway system was inspired by and based off of the Nazi autobahn.

AVUS and the World's First Autobahn
But the Cologne-Bonn superhighway was not the world's or Europe's first superhighway. The credit for that goes not to Hitler but to Benito Mussolini. The 80-mile autostrada from Milan (Mailand) to Varese was the world's first limited-access motorway. Designed and developed by Piero Puricelli, the Italian autostrada opened to traffic in 1924. Unlike the later autobahn, the Milan-Varese expressway was a toll road and did not have divided lanes until years later.
But the earliest precursor of the autobahn was German. Construction of the "intersection-free" AVUS (Automobil-Verkehrs- und Übungsstraße) began in Berlin in 1912. Not fully completed until 1921, the AVUS was essentially a closed race and test track. The industrialist Hugo Stinnes later purchased the roadway and expanded it to four lanes running a distance of almost 20 km (12 mi). Only much later did the AVUS connect with Berlin's public road network. Today it is part of the A115 autobahn
Let's just make sure we don't start throwing money at infrastructure projects for the sake of throwing money at infrastructure projects. There was a strong pre-existing need for an interstate highway. There is no need for a high-speed rail or another bridge to nowhere.Eisenhower was an extraordinary leader to invest in the United states and create jobs while doing so.

Right after the deficient is painful and we owe no other nation a dime. How about modernizing and fixing what we have? Is that off limits too?
Really?!? Who told you this! What year is it?!!? How did this information escape me!
No really... So? You can roll back spending without rolling back civil rights, women's rights, gay rights, technology, workplace safety regulation or any knowledge gained since.

I agree, no more wars or militray involvement ANYWHERE until we pay off our debts.
