Barry Goldwater? Milton Friedman? Surely you don't deny that they were conservatives, do you?

Why do you always try to divide people along sectarian lines? Just about every single post you make is "You aren't a true member of Group X, unless you agree with me on Issue Z." First you claimed to be the authority on what "real Christians" believe, but you got your *** handed to you in that debate, so now you're trying to change the subject by making an equally asinine assertion about what "real conservatives" believe.

Did you know that there is more then one kind of conservative? There are fiscal and social conservatives..........

Boy Navy you like abuse.......I gotta hand it to ya. :rofl

Yes you can and IMO the majority of Christians don't stand on scripture (mainly because they don't even take the time to read it and don't know what it says) so they think the killing is ok.

These polls are ridiculous. We all know who would vote a certain way. Thats not hard to tell.

This website is made up primarily of left wing pagan liberal democrats, who are pro-abortion, ani-war Bush haters. Thats a no-brainer. ;)

I don't know what you were trying to prove by the poll Navy but God luv ya.

I truly believe no true Christian would ever advocate unnecessary murder in the womb and I know this forum leans left but I can not believe there are only 6 believers in Jesus Christ in this forum..........

As far as the abuse goes, when the going gets tough, the tough get going........;)

hips, this is not the first time a poll has been skewed by people voting more then once...................It can be done

I am really growing tired of your absurd accusations that have no basis in reality and are used to attempt to bolster your failing position. PROVE this foolishness or RETRACT.

So Christians can be for abortion, but then they are hypocrites. Yes, I break many rules, such as my lust for war and battle, but to murder a child is something I could not do, I'd kill myself before slaughtering an innocent child.

So, in other words, you are saying that you cherrypick what to believe in and adhere to. How do you know which rule is OK to break and which is not?

Guess it's time for one of CaptainCourtesy's infamous definition questions:

What is the definition of a true Christian?

I am so going to He!!....Woe is me

I am surprised that someone like you would use so many examples out of context! These quotes are an indication that you not only question if one can be Pro Abortion/Pro Choice and call themselves a Christian..I believe you even question the validity of the scriptures themselves! In that case,we shall meet on another day in another topic!

If this fetus was an exception, then it undermines your entire point because no broad conclusion about abortion could be drawn from it.

And if it wasn't an exception, then there was nothing special about that fetus and it didn't LITERALLY leap for joy.

I think you missed the point. The life of the fetus is assigned a lower value than the life of an adult human..

Spencer..It in no way undermines my point! With God all things are possible unless you don't believe in him or you have a warped idea of who he IS. To think that he would have little to no objection to abortion proves that you do not have his Spirit within you! No..I think YOU missed the point, you think God has opened your mind to the understanding of scriptures. You quote them, juggle them but you do not understand them! You do not yet have the spirit within you,if you did, there would be no doubt in your mind that God opposes abortion.

Spencer...The life of the "fetus" is not assigned a lower value than the life of an adult human! That passage of scripture was referring to an "accidental" abortion not an "intentional" abortion no? If you possess "The Light Of The Spirit" you would have seen this distinction from the onset! It was YOU who missed the point and you will continue to miss the point until you welcome the spirit into your life. You argue for the pure "Joy" of argument, you do not seek the truth because you "believe" you already posses it.

Your god took the time to clarify his stance on eating shellfish, but not on abortion. Which leads me to believe it wasn't that big of a concern for him.

Spencer...My God? you mean he is not yours as well? Now we are getting at at the crux of "your" issue! Who IS your God? Declare him NOW or there is no point in further discussion. My God is Yahweh.Step up to the plate, who IS your God? Now go back into your corner and pray for understanding.God would never condone abortion!

Now go back into your corner and pray for understanding. God would never condone abortion!

Or shellfish. Or... mixed fibers.

Unfortunately for the religious zealots, which is extremely fortunate for the rest of us, no other person gets to determine God's intentions for us, it is for us to look within.

Is it even possible to vote more than once?
And why would any of us care enough about NP's lame little poll to bother?

I cast a vote here a few days ago from home. Today I saw this post and tried to vote again from school.....it worked. I voted twice on this poll. I would guess that the poll tracks people by IP and not account. Let’s test this shall we? I'll scoot over to the next computer, log in and try to vote.......

Ooooohhhh, it let me vote again.
I wasn't even logged in, either.
I voted 3 times on this poll.

The evidence supports my hypothesis that the polls track you per your IP and not your account, so if you can change your IP, like I just did, then you can vote more than once.

I await someone to independently reproduce my findings.

Vague needs to know about this.

guests are allowed to vote (in this forum only).

The idea is to increase interest in participation which might help those folks sign up.

It is indeed based off IP address for guests and off cookie/username for members. It should check your 'cookie' to see if you have voted if not logged in.

Will check into this...

So, conceivably (conceivably, get it?), all polls are worthless. Ironically, many, like this one, started by NP himself.....
However, I somehow doubt that every so-called liberal went hopping from pc to pc to vote in this ridiculous thing...I didn't vote at all simply because I take the OP to mean just what it says and since I am not a Christian, I can't call myself one, now, can I?

The above paragraph offers no substantiation for your claim other than "You would know God's thoughts and opinions if only he talked to you like he talks to me." Any student in logic will tell you that that's a completely irrational argument.

Either way, the mother would be dying the same way as the fetus. If someone fights with a pregnant woman and accidentally kills the fetus, it would be manslaughter (if we start with your assumption that the fetus is a human). If someone fights with a pregnant woman and accidentally kills her, it would be manslaughter. So the "crime" is the same, yet according to Exodus the killer receives less punishment for killing the fetus than the woman. How do you explain this, if they are valued the same?

Once again, nothing rational here to substantiate your claim.

Let's just say that I follow the morals of Jesus, as described in the Bible, better than most people who call themselves Christians do.

I would not discount *all* guests voting. The vast majority of them would be legitimate. But, it is not a closed loop system. If someone wanted to "stack the deck" they could.

All other forums do not allow guest voting. To get a more accurate picture of members only - open a poll topically.

Still looking into the cookie thing.

Can you call yourself Christian and be for genicide in the Womb?

Yes. The conept of being a "Christian" is far reaching. It seems that those that try to limit what it means to be a Christian might be less Christian than some of those that they are questioning in the first place.

The point is Gunny it can be and is being done................That is why this poll is so one sided....Sad that liberals resort to this kind of dishonesty..........

Thanks a lot Vauge....I would love to run this poll again when you close the loopholes.........

It is completely irrational for you to think that the forum progressives are so retarded as to go to their local library and jump from computer to computer voting in a ridiculous poll that has very little meaning in the first place.

Please start thinking straight and enough with the conspiracy theories man.
Your making your beloved conservatives look bad.

Really? A No Brainer you say? Why does the Forum "Stats" page prove you to be ENTIRELY WRONG! You really shouldn't speak on something that you aren't certain about.

As per the Stats page: http://www.debatepolitics.com/stats.php

Conservative/Very Conservatrive/Slightly Conservative: 185 total members
Liberal/Very Liberal/Slightly Liberal: 160 total members
Moderate/Centrists/Independents: 185 total members

So, as you can see, the conservative group on this forum is equal to the Independent/Moderate group, which is actually higher than the national level for such comparison, since nationally there are more independents than conservatives or liberals.
Therefore, How does that foot taste????

I don't know what you were trying to prove by the poll Navy but God luv ya.
Oh, You have come to cheer him oh eh?

That is and easy one Caine because a lot of those people under the M/C/I category are actually flaming liberals.......They are just to ashamed to admit it........
