That is probably because in those days a woman did not kill the baby in her womb.......Life may have been more precious then it is now.......

Wrong.
There is evidence that abortion was common in ancient Rome; in ancient Egypt, it was practiced for more than two and a half thousand years before the birth of Christ.
The history of abortion, according to anthropologists, dates back to ancient times. Historically, pregnancies were terminated through a number of methods, including the administration of abortifacient herbs, the use of sharpened implements, the application of abdominal pressure, and other techniques.

Abortion timeline:

2600 BC –First recorded recipe for an abortifacient drug.

1850 BC –Egyptians record recipe for contraceptive pessaries, one made from crocodile dung.

4th Century AD –St.Augustine lays down Catholic dogma sanctioning abortion up to 80 days for female fetus and up to 40 days for male fetus.

13th Century AD -St.Thomas Aquinas states Catholic dogma justifying sexual intercourse only for procreation.

1564 AD -Italian anatomist, Fallopius, discoverer of Fallopian tubes, publicizes condoms as anti-venereal disease devices.

1588 – Pope Sixtus forbids all abortions.

1591 – Pope Gregory XIV rescinds Pope Sixtus’ edict against abortion.

1803 – Great Britain makes abortion a misdemeanor.

But don't worry; the bible doesn't have much to say about rape, either; and in fact it implicitly condones slavery.
Apparently, God was too busy focusing on minutiae- such as preventing people from eating ospreys and wearing polyester- to really pay that much attention to the pressing human rights issues of the day.

If you think that Jesus Christ would not be pro life and anti abortion then you live in a fantasy world my friend.....................

Why do you hate Christianity so much?

Yes, I believe you can.
Nowhere in the Tanach are there any statements forbiding such an act.
Nowhere in the Gospels of Jesus are there any statements forbiding such an act.

And, lets rephrase your OP.

Genocide?
Lets see. An Embryo is....
A nationality? No
A Racial Group? No
A Political Group? No
A cultural group? No

Niether was Anne Frank by herself. But when there are millions of Anne Franks and millions of unborn children............

Wrong.

Do you have anything to even remotely substantiate your claim that Jesus would be pro-life? No? Then stop claiming you speak for your god, you false prophet blasphemer. It's laughable that you can even make the claim that you speak for Christians with a straight face, when you don't even have a clue what the Bible says. I'm not even a Christian, and I have a much better understanding of the Bible and Christianity than you do.

My interpretation of the Bible leads me to believe that Jesus, if in fact he existed at all as either a historical personage or a supernatural entity, could hardly be classified as "Pro-family" in the modern sense of the word.
It's hard to say what his opinion on abortion would've been, if he'd even cared enough to express one, which he obviously did not.
I believe his views were progressive, for his time and place, in regard to the treatment of women.

I don't care for Abortion that is used for Birth Control, if a woman is sick and may die from childbirth or a related disorder, she should have an abortion.

:sigh: Let's try this ONE MORE TIME.

genocide: n: The systematic planned extermination of an entire national, racial, political, or ethnic group.

Those that are aborted DO NOT QUALIFY as being victims of genocide under this definition. They are not part of any specific national, racial, political, or ethnic group. The comparision between abortion and genocide is ridiculous. Even if you believe that abortion is murder, IN NO WAY IS IT GENOCIDE.

Thank you for your kind attention.

His mother got knocked up out of wedlock and had to explain that situation to Joseph, supposing any of the story is true. I don't think anyone can fairly say how Jesus would feel about the subject one way or another. There are valid reasons to believe he would feel either way.

I really did not have to read anymore then that...........

Actually....you DID need to read more than that, But you wont....and therein lies a piece of the problem.

There you go again. Whenever you know you're losing an argument, just change the subject from abortion and attack someone else's religious beliefs.

Why don't you address any of the points that have been made? Show us some evidence from the Bible that Jesus would have been pro-life. For that matter, show us some evidence that you've even READ the Bible. Because it sounds to me like you don't have a clue what you're talking about.

There is not much sense in debating someone on this subject if they don't believe in Jesus Christ.....

What is the point if you are arguing with and Atheist or agnotstic?

You know, just becuse you "claim" to be a "christian" doesn't make you better qualified to speak about the teachings of the bible. In fact, you haven't proven that you know much about the bible in general. As SouthernBelle said earlier, it doesn't take much to be a Christian, all you have to do is "believe in Jesus and believe he died for our sins" and " ask him for forgiveness". Sounds simple right? Because it is. Outside of this, there is no reqirement to know much, therefore, just because you "claim" to be a christian, that does not necessarily mean you know more about the bible/teachings than someone who does not follow Christ.

Thank you, in advance, Navy Pride, for only reading part of this post and ignoring the rest

The theory behind debate (I cannot believe I need to explain this), Is to discuss an issue from opposing spectrums of understanding in an attempt to convince an opponent/audience that you are correct. If indeed you wish to converse with only those of a similar mindset....we call that a discussion.
But, as you seem incapable of actual debate, perhaps your refusal to enter into one is understandable. Please understand however, that one does not need to accept Jesus as a personal savior...to believe in him.

All I know about the Bible is what the Catholic Church has taught me and make no mistake about it the catholic Church believes life begins at conception and unnecessary abortions are a mortal sin........

And therein lies the problem. Can't you think for yourself?

And what do the views of the Catholic Church have to do with the views of Jesus? They are two very different things.

Because I quite clearly know more about the Bible than you do.

Unlike you I don't profess to be and authority on the bible.......I did take catechism for 12 years at Catholic School so I know a little about it and I know how the Catholic Church feels about unnecessary abortion........That is good enough for me........
