I have a high tolerance for Beer. I can drive across the country better than most people can with the distraction of kids.

But I'm not ignorant enough to think that I'm the only person in American and recognize that lots of people have accidents when under the influence of Alcohol.

Maybe, but it's a much more rare occurance. People who are drunk often swerve and hit things. The only effect mj has, apparently, is causing someone to drive slow. Heck, since people tend to get more injured the greater the speed, couldn't the argument even be made that driving while high is actually safer?

It's going to be fun watching people realize that making it legal just starts the crap from the start all over again. The best part however, is going to be watching many of them support it going right back down the same path. Government control is like a hole. If you ever manage to get out of it there is always some jackass at the top trying to push you back in.

Except that the argument is often that pot and alcohol are NOT the same, so why would you treat them the same?

Obviously they aren't the same, but the affects of marijuana impair your ability to operate a motor vehicle, so doing so should be a DUI. DUI's are not just for alcohol, they are for all kinds of drugs. I had a prescription for Lorazepam(Ativan), and you can receive a DUI if you drive while under the influence of that drug. So the same standard should be applied for marijuana.

Wine and Everclear are not the same. Why are they treated alike?

I think if there was some way to test for being baked like there is for alcohol then why not? A lot of us are guilty of driving home from a restaurant or bar after a few drinks. I wouldn't drive home if I drank 4 shots and I wouldn't drive home if I took some serious hits on chronic either, but a few beers, a hit of some cheap Mex, then maybe.

Choices will be yes, no, and I don't know.

Need a second to get the poll up.
I love it, but its not something you want to drive on. Illegal.

As far as you know, has anyone ever been injured or killed by a driver who was under the influence of pot? I've been told that there is not one single fatality attributable to m/j.
