...for the Boston Marathon Massacre? Not saying I'm sure about it but with all the smack they've been talking lately it did cross my mind.

I do think there's a 99% chance its either Islamist, domestic anti-government ala McVeigh since it was on Tax Day or North Korean.

I heard on the news this morning that a Saudi was under guard in the hospital. I think he's been arrested. He was caught running from the scene, claiming that he was just running away. (Makes sense to me.) If the news reports are true, they executed a search warrant on his home and have taken several bags of evidence from it that they think are tied to the bombings. Sounds very iffy to me . . . but they're reporting it...

my guess is that NK has nothing to do with it.

probably some extremist individual or group, foreign or domestic.

What do they gain? North Korea has a history of terrorism but that ended in the 1980s, and until it can be shown they'd of actually gained something from the bombing I see no reason to suspect it was them.

I heard a Saudi student had been questioned, his place searched and was being guarded. The report I heard made it sound like he was likely just running in the race like everybody else but drew suspicion due to his ethnicity. Interesting.

Why not wait and see what the official investigation reports? These kind of threads will just serve to create an irrational hype and fear of something that may not even exist.

In my humble opinion all bets are off with respect to North Korean precedent since the guy calling the shots now has only been in charge for a year and seems far more volatile than his father. Plus he's been openly declaring his UNCONDITIONAL intentions to attack America without warning. Anybody else with nuclear weapons saying they fully intend to carry out attacks on America would be taken with the utmost seriousness especially considering he's already launched missiles without provocation on a residential neighborhood in South Korea under the argument that the island he attacked is part of North Korea but for some reason when it comes to North Korea some people act like we're supposed to think he's just kidding.

??? I honestly can't see whatever fear and hype that would be caused by being openly curious as to who do you think is responsible not being exponentially overshadowed by the fear and hype of the actually terrorist attack, seeing blood in the streets on TV and hearing reports of numerous people being rushed into amputation surgery. Maybe I'm different.

I would think it HIGHLY unlikely. It's really not their type of MO.

Yes, you are certainly very different. Normal people don't give into irrational fears without having any reason. Do you have any reason to believe this may have been NK? Any reason. I swear, this is the kind of BS that politicians make runs on and exploit people like you. There was an official investigation launched. Wait for the results, or at least, some preliminary evidence to surface. Don't jump to conclusions.

If you are attempting to make an open debate, you will succeed. You will succeed in making an open, uninformed, idiotic debate who will be the launching pad for all sort of speculation and non-sense.

I'm giving into fear? I'm not afraid of anything. How on earth you got that idea is a mystery to me. What I'm doing is speculating; thinking out loud who might be behind this. It has absolutely nothing to do with fear. It's like watching a crime mystery and trying to mentally solve it before the end of the movie except its real and I've asked others what they think. I also have drawn no conclusions except I think it's probable it could be any of several possibilities. Please show me where I've said I've arrived at a conclusion, maybe I was misunderstood.

What might have unwittingly happened is the discussion might have caused you to be afraid, I honestly did not intend for that to happen and I apologize if that's in fact the case.

Too early to say who did it. We will probably find out in time. But, no, I don't think NK would be behind it. It makes no sense for them to attack one of the most heavy populations of socialist who are anti-war and would likely not want us to get involved with them. No, if it was them, they would of attacked a different target.

Whom ever is involved, I hope they catch them and hang them. Even if it happened in one of America's commie loving communities, there is absolutely no reason for initiating an attack with such a high potential for collateral damage and death to innocent people.

I dont know who did it so therefore i dont know.

I can't think of any plausible motive for NK, particularly if they haven't claimed responsibility already. Attacking the United States could only hurt North Korea and since they are trying to get aid for their country, it doesn't make any sense.

Who cares? Let's just bomb somebody somewhere outside of the USA so we'll feel better. Preferably somewhere with oil.

The longer it goes with nobody claiming it, then the more likely it's a homegrown bomber. The student was innocent, but now he's a marked man and needs protection from patriots.

Think about all the countless victims of US aggression over just the past decade and a half-or even further back (including former American G.I. errand boys sent by grocery clerks to collect the bill), and the list of potential perps of this bombing grows and grows.

It crossed my mind, but you're right, they'd certainly be crowing about it.

It is being said that these bomb signatures resembled some of the Bill Ayers prototypes from the 60's and 70's, doesn't Barry have him on speed dial?

I think it is either an al quaeda operative or a person impersonating their tactics to stir up **** and create terror.

Tragic ... yet all evil people please know the good people and the helpers outnumber you ...!

I think it will be a foreign born or first generation American student.

No. NK never occurred to me as a possibility.

I always thought Mideast or domestic.... roughly 50/50 shot each (at the time, before more info came out).

I highly doubt it was North Korea.

Other. The reason I think other is because of the timing, it was Kim Il Song's birthday, but it was also "tax day", but there have been IEDs in the middle east that used pressure cookers loaded with projectiles so it at this time could be anyone. I don't think NK had anything to do with it but an NK sympathizer might have, it could have been a lone wolf nutcase, it could have been a domestic group, or it could have been a middle east terrorist group but there are too many variables to make any kind of educated guess.
