If someone broke into her house and held her at gunpoint tell her he/she is going to rape her husband or her kids?
 Men don't get it.

Jesus Tapdancing Christ!
Why the hell would you ask such a messed up question?
It's interesting that although the choice was given in the OP, everyone assumed the burglar's male.

Other, of course. I would expect her to be in a "safe room" with the kids long before the intruder could get to her. For those not familiar with the "safe room" concept, it's pretty simple. You designate a room as a safe room. Anytime the house is broken into, she would go to such room which is stocked with a gun (large enough in caliber to penetrate the door and anyone on the other side of it), a cell phone and a decent lock/bar system on the door. When the burglar alarm wakes her, she and the kids go to such a room, lock themselves in, call the cops and if necessary, blow away anyone who she doesn't know who tries to enter the room. The smallest child's room or closet would probably be the best choice, older children would know to go there when the alarm goes off. Other useful items to have at hand would ear defenders in case your local area doesn't allow suppressors or if one of us doesn't have the appropriate license for one, Water, a few snacks and any items necessary for infant care. If anyone but the husband, whom she knows, or the cops, which their presence and even the dispatched officers name/badge number can be received through the 911 operator (or should be, if not, you need to vote to improve your 911 system) attempts to enter the room, she starts plugging rounds through the door.
There are lots of different options/systems available for entryway/window alarms, motion sensors, etc. Also, having a good dog in the house is a very good investment to warn you before an assailant can even enter the house.
Outside the house, concealed guns, knifes and other sharp pointy objects are always good to have on your person. When able, having a good loving dog of sufficient size to cause injury to an attacker as a companion is always a good thing.
I am currently unmarried, but any woman I might even possibly consider marrying would definitely have to be pro-gun. I currently sleep with a loaded semi-automatic .44 magnum on the bed or in easy reach (8 240 gr, hollow points loaded and two spare magazines, 8 round each, the gun is kept loaded with one in the chamber and cocked and locked). Long before we ever got married, she would either support that, possibly even have a gun already herself, or she would never reach the stage of being my wife. At least one date during the courting phase will be to a gun range.
And extra points for the Star Trek reference! The reality is that once an intruder has complete control of your very young children? He has control of you. If the intruder intends to do you or your children harm? If he sees you and knows you know he has your children? IMO, you're screwed. Rather like the Kobayashi Maru.

Interesting huh?
Well, it seems many have simply dodged the question entirely. In the other thread, the male was expected to be willing to give his life to save the female or significant other. Any man not willing to do so was chastised as being a coward. And in the last thread, men were actually being applauded by female posters for laying their life down for the sake of a female.
Where as in this thread, I have yet to see anyone say that a woman not willing to put herself in the same place is not branded a coward or a lesser female.
There is an underlying misandric view in America that is protected by both men and women. It is so deeply woven into our social fabric that many don't see it, or just simply feel it is not really that important an issue.
If any other demographic had similar statistical signs as men do such as:
Comprises of over 90% of the workplace deaths.
Dies 6 years earlier
Commits suicide 6 times more likely (and shockingly 1000 times more likely past the age of 70)
Is the vast majority of those effected by violent crime
Is the only demographic forced to sign up for being sent off and killed in a foreign country
Make up 40% of the high school graduates
Make up nearly 40% of the college graduates
Control 70+ % of the spending
gets 1000 times less funding for cancer research
If any of the above indicators were of a minority group, we would know about it and there would be a call for equality or protests in the street.
If any of the above indicators were of women, we would know about it and there would be a call for equality or protests in the street.
If these indicators were of men, no one cares and no one would know about it.

Little women can't take care of themselves, you know. And men aren't real men when they express their emotions.
