Sub-prime lending isn't an inherently reckless practice, and many within the financial realm (namely Bernanke) feel current lending standards are unnecessarily tight to the point of prohibiting ordinarily credit worthy individuals from home ownership.

Compare Obama's resounding victory in 2012 to Bush's close call in 2004.

That's all that I need to say.

The GOP has a problem.

I predict that in the not-distant future the GOP will be reduced to a minor, regional, party.

Wait and see.

LOL!!

Unlike you, I'm not obsessed with Bush. Heck, the man has been off the world stage for 5 fricken years. He's a non-issue...especially when talking about the 2012 election. No...talking about Bush isn't all you need to say...unless you have nothing to say.

btw, while Obama did do very well with the Electoral College vote (the result of a masterful campaign), no realistic person could characterize his win as "resounding". Very nearly half of Americans who voted...voted against him.

Anyway, given your penchant for talking about Bush, mischaracterizing election results and displaying your ignorance about American politics in general...I'm sure you'll understand my not placing any great importance on your predictions.

He is neither insane nor is he stupid.

He is insidious. He HATES the idea of individual liberty and believes that people who believe in that concept are evil and must be controlled. He's sneaky, manipulative, conniving and treacherous...and he has surrounded himself with the same kind of people. They are paranoid. They are narcissistic. They are delusional.

They are an enemy of a free America.

When are the moderators going to install a "raspberry" buttoon? The need is overtly obvious.

Obama has to do what his Aunty Oprah tells him to..:lamo

I've heard that many, many times before. You should hope that the GOP is not reduced to a minor, regional party. It's better to stay out of the prediction business. You are better served to follow your final bit of advice, and wait and see.

poll options are incomplete. I vote "I like potatoes. "

Believe what you want to believe.

Neither you nor I can change the future, it will be what it will be.

And we will all have to deal with it.

maybe not but impeaching Obama/Biden would be a positive step for this Country

Bush and Cheney are the guys who should have been impeached and put on trial for war crimes.

maybe so, along with clinton and his administration. the biggest sins of Bush and Cheney was getting mired down in Iraq. we should have gone in, crushed Saddam, killed him and left and letting the other cockroaches in the area know that if they got out of line we'd kill them too

When was Iraq ever more of a threat to the USA than North Korea?

you miss the point, we had a legal basis for squashing Saddam based on his violation of the Cease fire. He was a good example to be made of

They never will.

Sorry, but you'll have to be satisfied with your verbal simulation.

Ha, ha, HA.

And who cares what you 'think'?

Now THAT'S a trollish statement if I've ever heard one.

Makes me wonder... Why are you here?

"Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results" and obama wants to repeat the home loan policies that got us into the financial mess we are now in. Is he insane, stupid, or is he actively trying to destroy America? I vote insane.

"The Obama administration is engaged in a broad push to make more home loans available to people with weaker credit, an effort that officials say will help power the economic recovery but that skeptics say could open the door to the risky lending that caused the housing crash in the first place.
President Obama’s economic advisers and outside experts say the nation’s much-celebrated housing rebound is leaving too many people behind, including young people looking to buy their first homes and individuals with credit records weakened by the recession.
In response, administration officials say they are working to get banks to lend to a wider range of borrowers by taking advantage of taxpayer-backed programs — including those offered by the Federal Housing Administration — that insure home loans against default."

Obama administration pushes banks to make home loans to people with weaker credit - Washington Post

:doh <----what else is there to say?

None of the above. While I disageee with the POTUS on many issues I believe he's trying to accomplish what he thinks is best for the country.

By continueing a practice that got us into the last mess? Really? How many times must a person use a hammer on their thumb before they get the idea that doing that freaking hurts?

My honest opinion of what obama is doing is too long for a poll answer but here it is. Obama's economic policy has been a dismal failure and we are still limping along with our heads barely above water. The man is desperate to get some good economic numbers and creating a new housing bubble by reinstating the sub prime mortgage fiasco would definitely get the economy going. Existing home prices would go up which makes people feel positive, housing starts would go up and so would all the industries that depend on housing starts. It would be a huge shot in the arm for economic growth but just as last time it would be built on a foundation built on quicksand and there is a near certainty there would be another bubble burst that would make the last one look like a small blip. Obama doesn't care though as long as the economy looks good in the next election cycle so he can get control of congress and have the next two years to run roughshod over republicans and continue to "change" America. About the time he leaves office is likely when the new housing bubble will burst and we will fall farther than ever before but obama won't care, he got his changed America. In short his housing idea is purely political and has nothing to do with strengthening our economy.

As to the OP question, none of the above. The descriptors fit his detractors better than they do the President.

None of the above.

He does not seem insane or stupid to me, at all.

Trying to destroy America? Come on now.

Why on Earth would he do that?

No, I believe he is a socialistic, Neo-Keynesian.

Those type tent to flourish during hard economic times (look at FDR during the Great Depression).

They also usually end up costing the country a TON of debt and a skewed free market...exactly what is happening now.

But unlike FDR, Obama (probably) does not have a world war to save his reputation...this will obviously all end badly.

But it is hardly his fault, it's Americans fault for electing him. especially for re-electing him.

Heaven forbid voters will ever fess up that they have been continuously relinquishing their constitutional power to politicians over the last 232 plus years.

Presidents don't make it to office without owing their souls to the company store. Our elected officials' sole job is to do the bidding for those who own them...and that aint the voters.

Considering the lack of selection in answers, this hack thread DOES rise to the standard of insanely stupid.

I do not believe it is out to destroy America, however.
