What should happen to them

Wow...shouldn't they be criminally charged too?

I would have voted for tried in adult court

but the article didn't give their ages!

It said they were given longterm suspensions,

but to me they should have been permantley expelled!

It specified it was at a middle school, which narrows down the age range.

I voted "other" as in "They should be locked in a psych ward."

I'm a little confused as to how someone can drink any of it and not know? Sounds like she drank a rather large quantity, actually. Was her tea that spicy?

I'm just stumped, here.

Given that hand sanitizer is often odorless, it's not too surprising if it has little flavor. It also depends on how much they put in relative to the size of her drink.

They should be tried as juveniles. I don't understand this whole obsession some people have with trying children as adults for any crime they commit. They're children, they should be tried as children, always.

And let's be honest here. It's not like they were dumping cyanide in her tea. It was hand sanitizer. I'm pretty sure some really stupid people drink that to get drunk.

"Didn't know tea was poisoned."

No ****, sherlock. How many people realize tea is poisoned and then keep drinking?

I knew a couple students that put ex-lax in my math teacher's coffee in 7th grade and she was out for 2 days. I thought that was pretty bad. This is way below that.

Certainly not punished as adults. The only people who should be punished as full citizens are full citizens. That is, those who have had the opportunity to have a say in what the laws are: voting age adults.

Minors who do heinous things should be considered for psych wards, however. They obviously have something wrong with them.

I think we ought to prosecute them as adults to send a messageand make an example of their actions.

Kids know that if they can get away with something they will do it sometimes.

Exactly what I was thinking. Putting hand sanitizer in a teacher's drink is clearly unacceptable, and they need to be punished criminally/ sent to a psychologist.

Just like boys to do this...and girls to rat them out. Reminds me of my grade school days.
