It's a long, long way between the stars and if by a miracle another sentient species found us and then bore the cost, whether in labor or materials to create a FTL ship, they probably would announce themselves instead of scaring Kansas farm wives.

The universe is teeming with life of many kinds. But quadrillions of stars so far from one another makes contact likely, eventually. Maybe tomorrow, maybe in a million years but not yet.

Re: Do you believe in flying saucers?

Remember when William Jefferson Clinton became President ? I dol.

Clinton's first agenda wasn't Hillary Health Care or to start over downsizing the U.S. military which would result in a five year long war in Iraq but UFO's.

That many Presidents / Cn'C are kept in a need to know position by the CIA or the military. The current Cn'C is a perfect example, if a military flag officer or general were to tell Obama the truth and that truth isn't politicaly correct he will be relieved from his command or forced in to early retirement.

Those of us who remember when Clinton became POTUS was that he wanted to know if there were ET's or if the Romulans have taken control of the GOP ?

That question was one of President Clinton's first orders as Cn'C. As we all witness, Clinton never got back to the American people.

Did the Clinton Administration Uncover Any UFO Mysteries?
The president may have obtained information about the 1956 Jasper Incident, the subject of "The Top Secret UFO Project,"

    >" (Press Release) - Oct. 21, 2006 - William Jefferson Clinton had always been curious about the existence of UFOs. After taking office in January of 1993, he was suddenly in a position to gather information that most could not. The president was determined to find out if tales of flying saucers were simply hogwash, or if the government did, indeed, have many secrets hidden away somewhere in a well-secured vault. One of the UFO stories that the government covered up was the Jasper Incident of 1956, or so the legend goes in "The Top Secret UFO Project," "<

In respect olf POTUS Clinton. no link.

Should have married a trailer park that registered for plastic.

I'm not exactly sold on the idea, but it seems our knowledge of the universe is still rather a bit limited to support the above claim

PS going back and reading the OP I'm figuring you're talking about 'flying saucers" in particular?

...though statistically forgivable, considering how many requirements had to be met for life on this planet to flourish.

A new colony full of subjugatated workers, if they're anything like us.
I love the NSA. It's like having a secret fan-base you will never see, but they're there, watching everything you write and it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside knowing that I may be some person's only form of unconstitutional entertainment one night.

i believe that there is life out there. i also believe that this life has jumped in a disco light-equipped saucer and traveled across endless distances to visit us exactly zero times.

if a civilization that advanced wanted something from us, i suspect we wouldn't be debating it. we'd know for sure, and quickly.

We are alone in this PART of the universe though. There is nothing for 100's of light years around.

Absolutely believe in them. I threw one of them the other day and it was in the air for at least five seconds. I missed the person I was throwing it at, probably because he didn't believe in them.
