I think destroying the Republican party is relevant to the political landscape, and the Tea Party is helping do that. GO TP.

We have like 10 threads about the TP this week.

The proper question might be: "is the TP too damn relevant!"

They weren't relevant during the 2010 midterms elections?

Not from my perspective. They are just conservative republicans by another name. They were here before. It would be like the liberal college crowd calling themselves the Sundance Party. They are no different than they were when they were just the liberal college crowd. but pundits have something to yammer on about.

The Tea Party, or in other words less government/lower taxes, is still relevant.

Re: Is the Tea Party Relevant Anymore?

As the 2014 midterms draw closer, the Tea Party will become extremely relevant to the Republican candidates who want to be elected and re-elected. If it wasn't for the overwhelming Tea Party wins in 2010, Obama would have been able to completely destroy the United States by now. Everyone can see how much Boehner wants to surrender, who do you think is keeping the heat on him?

If the Tea Party wasn't a source of fear to the loons, we wouldn't have seen this thread or the responding loons dismissing it out of hand. The loons have been dismissing Sarah Palin since she first appeared on the scene, yet they remain absolutely terrified of her and the American values that she represents. It is the same with the Tea Party.

This thread is testimony to the truism that the Liberals will always tell you who they are afraid of.

Re: Is the Tea Party Relevant Anymore?

The Republicans had a huge victory in 2010, due in large part to the energy that the Tea Party movement brought. The Conservative philosophy and the Tea Party movement are two different things. The Tea Party movement is a Conservative/Libertarian related philosophy personified, and people voted in 2010 out of excitement and hope for the candidates they've always wanted. The Tea Party was almost dormant in 2012 because Mitt was very moderate, and most couldn't get excited enough to vote for him. I think Mitt was kind of a buzz kill for the local races as well.

Other, as they have only made a splash among the conservative base. But I think they have managed to splinter the Republican party. I don't see this splintering ending anytime soon either.

Though I have and will continue to disparage the OWS, and I considered them far from politically relevant.

The Tea Party is relevant, as they are still decent numbers, albeit fading strength.
