Is the Tea Party a racist organization?

Just to be clear, not a single one of those signs is racist. Might want to check definitions.

And I can't argue with this. The signs indicate something other than looking at Obama's policies.

Two of those are, IMO. Like the watermelon photo definitely plays on stereotype. Not sure how it ties in to TP, but it is racist.

Stereotyping is not racism.

And I can't argue with this. The signs indicate something other than looking at Obama's policies.

Not looking at Obama's policies is not racism.

I can get another. Education allows for that.

I should have known that. Only conservatives are educated.

Hey, that may explain the reason I chose to be educated. I use to think I was a conservative, but then I decided that I don't like conservatism...or liberalism...or any other type of ism. Isms clutter free thinking.

I read something the other day that made the claim of a major discovery regarding liberalism in America.

According to the conservative author of the article. It seems that it's virtually impossible to solve the murder of a liberal. Yep. It's been discovered that there's no defining difference in their DNA...and they have no dental records.

Gosh, maybe there is something to subscribing to an Ism.

I'm actually dedicating this post to Navy...I'm sure he'll appreciate it more than any other conservative in the DP forum.

Not looking at Obama's policies is not racism.

Sure it is if you're faulting him for the economy, the war, Benghazi, you name. If you can't define his policies and why you oppose them, then you're lamblasting him for being black.

some are borderline, others; spot on.

Quite apart from the tea-party attribution - this is really a matter of perception. I look at the first silly sign - I see a "witch doctor", in conjunction with the Obamacare. But I rarely think in racial terms (I am very familiar with ethnic bigotry, but a Russian and a Pole, or a Chechen and an Ingush are not very different, in outward appearance). Someone else looks at the same picture, and he sees President caricatured as a savage from some African jungle. Now, whichever was the actual intention, is it a lighthearted (and dumb) joke, or is it a deliberate and venomous insult? I don't know. It depends.

Why don't we just ignore all the stupid sign-waving and slogan-screaming by who-knows-who, and focus on what a given tea party organization is trying to do, or what Barack Obama is actually doing - and judge things and public figures on their own merits?

Nope. The word "racism" has a specific meaning. Might want to look it up.

Yes, good luck with that one.

See....clearly superior

Well, I can't argue that. The three members they have were all put into Congress and removed. So, they are right. My bad. Seems as though it's not racism, just politics that benefit a few.

And people call conservatives racists. It may shock you to discover that there are black people who have jobs and own businesses and have actual money in the bank who don't want it taken away to hand out welfare checks

Another no vote
Where is the other option ?
I am NOT a tea bagging conservative, I know no man in the party, thus, I cannot tell.
And I will not go by what others say - or think.
Probably some extremists in the party are; but these people could well be in the liberal party...
