Has anyone seen these stupid family stickers on the back window of people's cars? How dumb can you be? You may as well invite some perv to try and get your child in the car with them. You're giving them your kids friggin name, your name, your pets name in some cases, and the kind of car you drive!! A guy that knows all of that has a major advantage if he's trying to abduct your child. If you have these stickers, do me a favor, drop the "It'll never happen to me" attitude and protect your family. You guys can call me paranoid if you want, but why give anyone anymore ability to harm your family than they already have. Am I off base here?

Kind of reminds me of this.

fast forward to 1:00

It's always kinda bothered me, the quantity of information some people give away with their window/bumper stickers. Unscrupulous people could abuse this info in some cases.

Nothing on my truck but one American flag sticker. That's it. Not even an NRA sticker... don't want anyone thinking there might be a gun in the cab they could steal.

;)

Although I don't think it presents any immediate danger.

But I do give to the FOP and State Troopers. So I have a Punch Tag from them that is attached to my Plate. Like one of their Top donation items in exchange. Instead of just a sticker. The State troopers one is a Sticker that goes in the back windshield. I get pulled over less when being followed by LE's either that or they get use to seeing my vehicle.

I think you might be overreacting a little bit, since the majority of child abductions are by people who know they child, so they already know all that information. So the increased risk is likely very minor.

However, I'm also not a fan of cluttering up my car with stupid crap, so it's not really an issue for me regardless.

I don't care if people want to plaster their car with that kind of stuff. Chances are they're parked in a garage at home, anyway, and personally I think people take a bigger risk being on Facebook or having important sites - like banks - saving their passwords for convenience. The odds are so much higher you'll get your identity stolen, which can put your kids and you in the poor house, than someone will kidnap your kids. Kidnapping is like most other crimes. If the criminal really wants it they will likely get it one way or another. Hackers don't really target individuals - they just look for the easy score - but other criminals do, especially kidnappers.

You can't fix stupid. After all, a young child may not associate "stranger" with a person that knows their name. I get a kick out of those that plaster their vehicles with bar stickers too, inviting those "ramdom" stops for DUI/DWI checks. Many times clues abound as to what might be left inside a parked vehicle as well; gun club, car stereo, hot rod accessory and musical instrument clues abound.
I've got stickers all over the driver's side rear window (not the back window) and good luck to anyone trying to get the stuff out of my Road Runner. Unless they can pop the trunk and hot wire the car they're screwed. I generally leave it unlocked, too, there's really nothing in thecab they can get easily and I never leave it where someone can dismantle it without someone being a little curious about what's going on. Oh, I guess they could steal the radio  but not the hidden CD jukebox. :)

Otherwise, though, I leave my cars as neutral as possible. ((The daily drivers, anyway. You can't hide a Torred - aka, Hemi Orange - car no matter how much you try! ;)). I can't tone down the noise anymore than I have without sacrificing performance but I leave everything else looking as stock as possible so the cops don't get the wrong idea - even if they should. *evil grin*

Does this sign worry you ?

Since we seem to be covering the various embellishments of vehicles, what is with the In Memory of stuff on people's vehicles?

Do they truly think they are the only one's who's lost somebody?

I just can't comprehend that one. And I'm forced to continually see it while sitting behind them at a stop light.....

Maybe they bought/aquired the vehicle from an inheritance??? LOL!

Those stickers should be for confirmed kills only. He he he. Also I like how people think I give a **** about them or their family. I don't. STFU, don't drag me into your **** and I won't drag you into mine.

 I always hated the "baby on board" things that went in the back window. Every person who had one of those drove like maniacs. It's almost like having that sign gave them the right to drive like an idiot.

I have the Bone Family on mine - they're skeletons - but no names.

So sue me . . . it's a window . . . and I put some stickers on it.
:scared:OH MY ****ING GOD THE GODDAMN WORLD IS GOING TO END:scared:
I use to have a huge kickass display of skull stickers all over - but that was the old truck. The new truck isn't broken in yet. It's just the family for now (2 dogs, 1 cat, 4 kids (2 teens boys, 1 young boy and 1 young girl), 2 adults)
. . . they're like these: Right down to the mohawks, it's pretty accurate :D

Clearly the OP states stickers with names under them. If your's have no names, while I still think it's stupid, it doesn't fit the parameters I laid out in the OP. I don't think that would pose any threat to your family.

Here's one they love on the Mexican border:

This is the only post I have read yet, but damn, this has always drove me nuts. Besides how just flat stupid it is to stick little stick men stickers on your car, but then you include names? No you are not off base, thanks, until now I thought I was the only one this bothered.

What gets me is when the Pet's names seem more human than the kids.

Some people are paranoid. Stickers won't get your kid abducted.
