Good evening pg. I have no intention of moving any farther north...

I've researched the hell out of this and immigrating, nearly anywhere, is very difficult.
That is true, America use to be like that before the 1965 Immigration Reform Act.

Most developed countries immigration policies are what's best for the nation.

America's immigration policies in the past forty five years has been what's not best for America but what's best for the immigrant and the Democrat Party, uneducated and unskilled immigrants who are extremely likely to live in poverty and become dependent on the government.

If Texas secedes, will that be considered a different country?

American immigration policy was good over 100 years ago, that's changed a lot now.

Now most countries have just as strict immigration policies, of course if you do it the legal way.
If I remember right, Brazil has a similar anchor baby system.

Good evening, Polgara. The trick is to wait until you're fully retired. No one turns away self-supporting pensioners who add to the economy and don't compete for jobs.

I enjoy being in England, but I don't believe you can leave behind your fatherland.

I hate to say it but I no longer see that "Shining city on the hill."

And I don't see another Ronald Reagan in the horizon who can give America a second chance. More accurately a third chance.

America hasn't been so divided since 1860.

We have lost so many individual freedoms like the freedom of choice, now it's either the federal government or state governments who tell us how we should live our lives. We are told what words we can use, what kind of guns we can own, where we can smoke, even if we can have a fireplace in the home in some states. America has become a nanny state and half of America wants free stuff from the other half.

Who would have ever thought fifty years ago that nationalism (patriotism) would be called racist ?

Even twenty years ago it would have been impossible of picturing someone who said "I never looked upon myself as being an American but as an internationalist" sitting in the White House.

I think I'm going to ask that I be cremated when I die so no one has to hear me turning over my grave when we become just another South Africa where even the middle class have to live behind walled communities and the cost of living also includes the cost for mercenaries to protect the walled communities.

Personally, I'd rather work to change America into the place I want to live.
Also, we need to legalize recreational drugs and prostitution.
