Smoking pot doesn't make you see things that aren't there, it isn't a hallucinogen. Please learn about drugs before commenting on them.

IF pot was legalized, I'd have no real issue with it unless the doctor has a history of being intoxicated while on the job.

With it not legal, I would have issues with it because I'd question the judgement of someone threatening a well paying career and practice over a desire to partake in a particular substance.

Depends on what kind of doctor it is and what one means by "regularly". I wouldn't want a surgeon who needed to stop to go fire up a bowl; but an eye doc could take a break from my exam and I would chalk it up to fighting that glaucoma

Xy, have you ever spent time with somebody who smokes pot regularly?

It's like saying you wouldn't trust science done by a scientist who smokes weed. Smoking weed doesn't matter, it's one's abilities that do. And one could very well be exceedingly excellent at what they do despite smoking weed.

I was around it some in high school and had college professors that I suspect used it, but as far as friends I spend a lot of time with, none of them smoke pot (that I know of).

As I said to Tessy, I have been around it some in high school and the kids that smoked it were anything but impressive when they were high.

OK. So you have a small number sample of high school kids. Unimpressed. Get more data, let me know what you find. I think you'd be surprised at the number and quality of professionals who routinely smoke weed.

One of my medical service providers smokes pot. He also bikes 7-20 miles a day (weather dependent), plays golf, hunts religiously, and provides the most thorough and beneficial care I've ever experienced from somebody in his field.

How much time do you think should elapse between the time he smokes pot and sees patients?
