I dunno, I have worked in hospitals for many years, seems there are a lot of doctors with addiction issues that do not involve pot. You just never know.

What's the count up to for medicinally legal weed states, bud? I figured you'd probably know off the top of your head.

In my state "medicinal" marijuana is not allowed, I am unsure what the figures are in the states that allow it

I'm not sure I'd want a doctor on pot, even if it's prescribed. I would think of it like any medicine that carried obvious and serious side effects. I wouldn't want someone doped up on codeine if their job is a truckdriver.

    But hey, that's me.

I haven't taken my law course yet, but I think it's illegal for any licensed practitioner to practice under the influence of alcohol or any narcotic. I worked with a pharmacist that had dental surgery and was prescribed hydrocodone for post op pain. He couldn't take those pills while working because he told me it was illegal for him to do so and practice pharmacy.

As far as a private matter goes, drug offenses can result in a revocation of a license. No one in my state is allowed to smoke marijuana, Federally it is illegal everywhere. Even if the doctor was smoking pot on his own time I still wouldn't want him/her since they are willing to risk their license by illegally using a drug. If they are willing to do that to get high why should I trust them with my medical care? If they got caught it may not even be legal for them to practice medicine anyway.

Last I checked it was, although I know more about HIPAA than actual physician law. It helps to work for a "pain doctor" - you pick up a few things.

Since THC stays in your body a LOT longer than the smoke stays in the air, you could argue easily that even a recreational user could be "under the influence" at any given time.

It would depend. If it's a good doctor, then yes. If it's a bad doctor, then no. A doctor smoking weed wouldn't prohibit me from visiting them so long as they are still competent at their job.
You know the time is right to take control, we gotta take offense against the status quo

Nope. I want a doctor who has a clear head.
I love the NSA. It's like having a secret fan-base you will never see, but they're there, watching everything you write and it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside knowing that I may be some person's only form of unconstitutional entertainment one night.

I think eventually I'll have to rotate through a pain clinic. Although I do know of a few in town that are sketchy and I wouldn't want to be there.

I'd have to find the study, but I remember reading that after smoking pot mental impairment can last for about 2 weeks after the high wares off.
