Why are you asking me to substantiate your red herring? Isn't it more honest to substantiate my actual argument? I'll wait for that question.

Move along now. This is way too complicated. We'll handle this.

They would never jail any famous American because they understand that it would severely damage their image and only further highlight the atrocities they openly are involved in. They are not in the business of creating negative press, they are in the business in creating positive propaganda. Which is why, instead of jailing American celebrities, they wine and dine them because they understand that they will get positive press if they are able to get that image out.

Not to many make such visits with the intent of insulting the leadership. Because if they did get jailed for such, it wouldn't surprise anyone.

That's the same A. Q. Khan that offered Libya help for its' discontinued Nuke program and look what happened to Libya. Is there a message here?"

My post is reasonably exact truth. It is likely the way much of the world sees this issue. It is certainly the perspective from North Korea. If any of the facts are in error, provide links to disprove them. Not opinions.

Yes, but that did not generate negative press internationally at the time because no one really cared about a director or an actress from South Korea. If they were to kidnap a Director or an Actress from America, there would be more international visibility.

Perhpas it was just a rendition of the director and actress. How could that be referred to as kidnapping? Rendition was legal?? in the USA until quite recently, apparently.

Ignoring the fact that you likely know **** all about the public reaction to these kidnappings back in the 70's, the fact remains that the popular perception of NK is that it's a country of schizophrenics which is able to churn out bad PR like it was a business

they were kidnapped specifically to make films. We conduct renditions for state security reasons. Sure, take issue with the later, just don't try and compare it to a dictator kidnapping people to flush out his hollywood fetish
