Yep. Anyone who dares question the plans of the great wizard Obama is a racist, rich loving, bigot that wants to take away "opportunity" from all of the impoverished masses. ;)

Andf then pee wee herman right wing mass hysteria begins with the chant of "I know you are but what am I?"

Don't expect an answer - gratuitous, flippant claims of racism whenever Obama's name is mentioned negatively is a standard debating tactic of those on the left who can't develop a cogent thought to justify their support for the man.

Why do black posters here consistently make race an issue when they talk about Obama? Why can't you talk about politics without talking about race? Is it because YOU are black? Are you black?

And he shouldn't have been. What makes the POTUS so special? If someone says they're going to kill me on Facebook, nothing happens. We hear of sports stars being threatened all the time. Nothing happens to the threatening party. Saying you're going to do something and actually doing it are 2 totally different things.

I don't know why it has to be explained why the POTUS, no matter their party, is special. As a figure head and leader of our nation, they become the target of nut cases, for merely holding the office. It's not the individual, but what they represent. Possibly that distinction has been lost?

Since four have been killed in office and many others have had attempts made on their lives, all threats must be treated seriously. It's the law, don't break it. Easy enough.

I don't know the race of anyone here on Debate Politics, nor do I care - it's not a integral part or even a passing thought in my thought process. You'll have to ask someone else to debate race with you - doesn't interest me one bit.

If true then they must have word recognition software for forums, because there's no way they have the manpower to lurk in every political site. The number of people who talk like Gipper just did is mind boggling.

I understand they do and for phone lines as well. The end result is called 'chatter.'

Morons exist, of all political persuasions, in all political discussions. If the argument shifts to the character of the messenger, rather than the content of the message, they show themselves to be unworthy of your further attention. ;)

Well I happen to know some of the black posters here from other forums who make racist comments about Obama pretty frequently. I find that bizzarre and would like to know why they do it?

I'm not saying we shouldn't defend the POTUS. Of course we should. He should be well protected. All I'm saying is the SS shouldn't be doggedly pursuing every single individual that makes some offhand remark about him.

Because until the person fires a gun at the POTUS, it can't be considered a serious threat? That makes no sense. It's the law and anyone dumb enough to flaunt it deserves a visit from the Secret Service.

I don't know about software recognition. I know that they will investigate, consider it and then pay a visit if necessary. On another political site I used, a poster made similar statements, of support and prayer that someone would do it. The posts were reported to the mods and a call was made to the Secret Service, not by me. He told the board he was visited and warned. His posts were removed and he never posted like that again.

A woman on one a few years back where I posted said that Bush had better not come near her neighborhood when he came to her state. She lost her job, was posting from work.

I find it bizarre that in the 21st century, with so many other problems and interesting events in this world, that you're so fixated on race. I don't have the time.

For ****'s sake, she's just a first lady. She gives speeches from time to time, poses for photographs, wears fancy dresses, goes on talk shows and takes on safe, family friendly causes. Like every other first lady who's ever lived. She is literally the most banal, harmless national figure to get so riled up about.

Her taste in clothes sucks and she is ugly. Someone should sic the fashion police on her!

Threatening the President of the United States is a class D felony under United States Code Title 18, Section 871.[1] It consists of knowingly and willfully mailing or otherwise making "any threat to take the life of, to kidnap, or to inflict bodily harm upon the President of the United States".

Look it up in your Funk and Wagnals.

How about if someone gives the SS a post from this forum with an address. Then all the SS has to do is make a simple house call, not a dogged persute. I'm glad you agree.

No, just people who want to kill him - or, as one poster here offered, buy the bullets for whoever does.

I'ts Federal Law - you know, that thing you swore to defend when you took your oath. Or maybe you didn't.

PS Threatening to kill anybody is a crime.

But it's a felony when you threaten the presisdent. A felony is punishable by at least 1 year on prison.

There ya go. It's a well known law.

You don't expect people here to be actually affected by Federal Law, do you? Especially when its the anti-christ Obama.:lamo

I can think of one I'd suggest as a test case.

I'm sure it's been made a felony to keep costs down. Think how much it would cost to investigate everyone who said it if they weren't looking at a year in the pen. If it were just a misdemeanor like speeding, a lot of folks would just burn one and say it.

As I posted earlier, there were threats made on a forum I used, on the POTUS after the 2008 election. A call placed, not by me, and a visit paid. It doesn't take monitoring to the enth degree.

Gee, if that's his spelling, and not a spelling mistake on your part, perhaps the man simply wants to have a gay affair with Barry.

Somebody should tell this Patrick McIntosh that he's projecting much more than he realizes.
