I think you are close if not right on.
Curious though, why is his unpredictably dangerous?
    Dangerous to whom?

I do believe his loss first in the primary to BushII and then when running after the train wreck BushII left has changed him. he seems more peevish, i believe he feels betrayed and where ever he can lash out he does. I don't think he would be using Hagel to extort more information from the Obama Administration IF Hagel hadn't been a maverick and gone against his party during the Iraq mess.

Will be interesting to see if McCain gets over his sense of betrayal anytime soon.
He won't McCain, is just showing his true self,he's nothing but and old bitter man who time had passed him bye. And the Country will keep fading away because of Senator's and Congressman's just like him.Plan useless!

It's not because John McCain doesn't care. It's because John McCain doesn't get it.

    Not to degrade him.
IMO, to be tea-party is an insult.

The only thing McCain was a Maverick to.....was The republican party. Due to not voting party lines. Now is McCain a bit of a Rebel. I think it's safe to say he is.

I mean how many other Senators do you know that will get on Twitter and Diss the President about eating Dog and Putzing around golf courses while not knowing how to golf. I just hope he doesn't lose his sense of humor while he gets older.
