Just a curiousity of your party affiliation vs your age. I used to be on liberal side now lean towards the conservative side

If you're a liberal at 40, you have no head.

If you're a liberal at 20, you're an unemployed druggie.

-Winston Churchill

Amen! I'm 59 and conservative and Churchill was right at 20 I was 20s stupid:

The quote is actually "If you're not Liberal when you're 25, you have no heart. If you're not Conservative when you're 35, you have no brain." but there is no record of him actually saying it. Liberal and Conservative are also different in England, as they were different for us in the 30's and 40's.

Some of the people here are neither conservative or liberal.

I've never really been a liberal, but as I get older, I get more and more conservative. Note, that's conservative, not neo-con. Neo-cons are not remotely conservative.

I agree.

In fact, I'd argue that liberals and neo-cons are very, very similar. There just is no actual conservative party in America today.

I am a 66 year old who believes in fiscal responsibility. In other words that the government should not spend any more money that what it takes in except in extreme emergencies, I would classify the great depression and WWII as those emergencies. I also have no problem with abortion, a woman should be able to do what she wants with her own body, no problem with gay marriages, I think President Obama did the right thing on immigration in not departing the children of illegals. Simply put, I think any individual ought to be able to live the life they want as long as they are not harming others. I guess this makes me a fiscal conservative and a social liberal.

That is not an answer or choice in your poll. So I choose none of the above.

I just got done explaining that on another thread about an hour ago to Cardinal Fang I think.

Yeah, I think that describes me. I go topic by topic. I just don't fit well with either group.

I'm 69. The age, not the position:roll:

the older i get, the less i want to join a club or carry a torch and pitchfork for a bunch of people who would turn on me in a minute if i uttered something ideologically impure.

Mostly liberal, mid thirties. Getting into it with my extended liberal family on the topic of Israel is best avoided.

Come on, Gipper. I don't even believe Churchill used the word druggie.

Hrm. I can't vote in your poll. I consider myself to be mostly conservative however, I'm socially liberal. I'm more of a right-leaning Libertarian - I am a RINO and I'm 44 years old.

Boy you sure are old.

I like to think of myself as a fiscal conservative, I agree taxes are necessary,
the government should agree to spend my money as carefully as I would spend it myself.
I don't think anyone should live beyond their means, and our government should not ether.
For Social issues, not a government role to restrict peoples freedoms, especially if it costs money!

I'm 34 and libertarian. Was more of a conservative in my teens and early 20s, but eventually grew more liberal socially.

I'll never be a liberal. Multiple business degrees will anchor that into place.

Odd, there's only two choices, yet many different political ideologies.

I'm libertarian so I don't fit the liberal/conservative mold well.
