Ammunition: the new currency, owning a reloader would be like owning a printing press.

You can trade bullets for anything, one way or another.
Good point on the medicinal whiskey!

So I ask the question of you guys, survive or die, which is preferable?

By the way James has an interesting survival blog. SurvivalBlog.com

LIving for the sake of living is not all that exciting for lots of people as they age and it often has nothing to do with being in pain or suffering illness - sometimes, it's just a matter of having done all you want to do in life and nothing new seems interesting or provides a lot of joy.

I'm not a big fan of existence, for the sake of existence.

The premise of the book follows a number of characters who have banded together to form a common defense and support system based out of the home of one of the members, in Idaho. Most of the individuals make their way from the Chicago area to the home, where they have stores and provisions they have stockpiled, waiting for them. They have an organizational system, including a heirarchy and job schedule amongst the group.

Yup, that and a working fresh water source, and you would be the new King.

'Course you would expend a lot of ammo protecting that water source.....

I once thought this but primer/powder supplies will be limited or seemingly as limited as the cartridges themselves...but it would be advantageous for awhile.
