Which of the two listed above are worse for you?

Me? Nazis without a doubt.
 
Communism is worst. And if you would learn a bit more history than the shallow end of the pool, you would know why.

Communists, as in private individual people who subscribe to communist ideology, are bad or good, depending on multiple other traits. But communists as people who are in charge of a communist party and hence, a country and enforce communist ideas in the country, forcing all the people to abide by communist principles, are evil people regardless of all other factors and I hope a special place in Hell is reserved for all of these communists. Ah, communists go to hell by de facto, but the point is to go the bottom of it.

I sound like I broken record when I say this, I do not sympathise with Communists. I hate them as well. I hate communists a lot.

Regardless for my hate for the idiotic ideal that is communism and its followers, Nazism is a plague. My hate and loathing for Nazis is unnumerable. The mass killing and despicable deeds that would have been done if they had succeeded would make communists look like kittens. Their unlimited hatred for everyone not of their own, taking radical nationalism to new scales, and mass murdering millions as a GOAL (as opposed to a side effect of stupid policies of Communists) makes me figuratively foam at the moath whenever I meet a Nazi.
 
bureaucratic dictatorships in eastern bloc countries cant be defined as communism in my opinion.........

Communists, without a doubt. I've got no love for the Nazi's but their view of the world is much closer to mine that the Communists (who are basically antithetical to everything I believe in) are.
 
Straight white male, so... Commies. Commies always kill the intellectuals. I'm not saying the learned had it easy under the Nazis, but at least we had a chance.

If "worse for me" includes my suffering resulting from the persecution of others, then Nazis.

I agree. Nazis. The Nazis were led by an insane man whose goals were anathema to civilized society throughout the world: anti-Semitism and Aryan Supremacy.
 
From what I read on DP we are already a Communist nation and that's working out pretty good for me. I don't know how Nazi-ism would work out for me.

I couldn't vote. I'm a commie of sorts, just not a Nazi/Commie.

Nazis are worse, of course. Genocide and terror are intrinsic to their ideology. For a commie those things are a perversion of their ideology. Big difference.

You can have an anarcho-commie, a Eurocommie, a Trot and a few others, none of which have any interest in or sympathy with the failure of the Stalinist/Maoist experiments of history. I don't think you can have any kind of Nazi that isn't either in sympathy with or interested in being an apologist for the Third Reich.
 
Hitler suffers from a very biased press. But scholars is looking deeper and deeper.
And some of the study results are quite interesting. Do your own research. Also,
google, "historical revisionism, holocaust".
 
Nazism and Soviet or Chinese communism are merely more technologically advanced versions of the totalitarian military dictatorships that have appeared continuously throughout human history. They aren't that different from each other, nor were they different from many manifestations of feudalism or imperialism. The result is the same, a few powerful people competing for supremacy, and the overriding use of power being devoted merely to obtaining and securing more power for the powerful, and everyone else is subjugated, dominated, and caught in the perpetual crossfire. The Nazis did it. The Soviets did it. The Romans did it. Much of European history is devoted to people doing it. Much of Chinese history is devoted to people doing it. Much Middle Eastern history is devoted to people doing it.

All that said, it is a terrible shame what 20th century communists did to tarnish socialist ideals.
 
Nazism. I'm Jewish, and their antagonism toward Jews was a bit more proactive.

If you ask me to chose between Nazi Germany and certain examples of Communism, such as the USSR under Stalin or Cambodia and the Khmer Rouge, it's really hard to chose -- similar death count, similar disregard for human dignity, similar kind of totalitarian rule.

But I chose Nazis, because there were/are also examples for communist regimes that are bad, but not as bad as Nazi Germany. For example, communist East Germany (1949-89) was bad, but magnitudes better than Nazi Germany, by far not as murderous and rather authoritarian than totalitarian. Or socialist Cuba. Or Yugoslavia.

Hmmm, I wonder which scholars those might be. Challenging received wisdom, even on a topic as toxic as the Holocaust is one thing, but no amount of revision will reform the evil of Hitler. I think that anyone who has studied history properly and objectively would concur.

Agree 100%. To that list you could add Vietnam, Allende's Chile, socialist Venezuela, Bolivia, Ecuador and Nicaragua. All had/have many faults, but we're not in the same league as Nazi Germany, Stalinist USSR or Maoist China.
 
Communists and Nazis are both hardcore leftist totalitarians and just plain evil.
 
Nazis mainly because racism is a central tenant to the ideology.

I oppose any sort of totalitarian belief system that demands such uniformity of thought that all who do not abide are persecuted.
