RP is taking the proverb way out of context.

I agree with the good Doctor about a lot of things. I don't agree with his timing or the first sentence. The second, yeah, I can see that. The first? No. The first sentence seems to suggest that Mr Kyle was some sort of mercenary sadist. I don't think he was. I have seen interviews with him and he has said that he hated to see the way the "terrorists" in Iraq treated Iraqi civilians. I don't believe Mr Kyle was cruel or a sadist. I just think he was a top notch operator who was sent to a bottom notch "war" and did some great things despite the circumstances, as many of us that went to that theater did. Dr Paul could have waited a while for the second sentence. The first never should have been uttered.

I do, absolutely. I'm tired of the cult of militarism in which every soldier is a hero and every critic a traitor. I'm thankful Paul has the guts to say what so many of us are feeling.
Please do explain this "cult of militarism" that you speak of.

He perhaps could have used a more gentle touch but treating shell shock with more shock doesn't seem to be the smartest thing anyone came up with. We should be lucky it ended in only two tragic deaths.

The second sentence I have no problem with. It seems legitimate to question what was going on in that scenario, and why someone would take a friend with PTSD to the firing range. The first sentence is just tasteless and insulting.

Always with the ad homs. How ugly to assume that someone wanting to help fellow vets had a "savior complex."

If this was any other politician that said this we'd be laughing out the door at an attempt to defend, deconstruct, or explain what was clearly a ludicrously offensive, incendiary, and cruel remark form a sitting congressman about a veritable war hero and charitable leader. But because its DR. Paul (never forget that he's a doctor, because well he's a doctor, and that makes him trustworthy) the cult comes out of the wood-works to provide a 'nuanced' explanation or wave it away as probably from some staffer. Do I agree with it? No it's ridiculous, and anyone else's reputation would be tarnished by such a stupidly offensive remark.

Do you agree with Ron Paul's tweet on the death of Chris Kyle?

It was tasteless for timing, the second sentence is dead on accurate.

Personally I think they are fools for doing so and I do not hold them in high regard.
You sir, have obviously never served in the military.

And Ron Paul is blowing it right now.
