Should our money be used to pay for PSA's such as this?

Really never could have thought to hide form a shooter.
 
It had some good tips in it like letting people know the priority LE will have and how not to get in their way or expect them to be helping you until the shooter is down. I would think the run or hide or run and hide stuff would be obvious, but some people do not always possess good common sense (an opinion reinforced every time I come here :lol:)
 
it's ok advice for many folks.

they didn't have an option I would take though. ( grabbing some scissors to take on a gunman is really not all that smart... but at least they threw in a bone for those whom are more likely to take the guy out rather than run away)
 
Is this a stupid almost "common sense" video? Yes.
Should we still support PSA things like this? Yes.
As stupid as it may sound there are stupid people out there and when tragedy strikes videos like these still should be made.
 
Because The Idea Of Protecting Yourself With A Gun Is Insane.

I actually think it's informative. Yes, it seems like common sense; but common sense often needs reinforcement. Frankly, I think it should be played in every school in the country. It just might save lives.

Edit: Oh, the scissors part. Ridiculous. As Indiana Jones proved, never bring scissors to a gunfight.

A perfect socialist response. You people think everybody is stupid and needs the government to tell them what to do and how to do it.
 
We should abolish the Department of Homeland Security altogether. It is a complete waste of money and is not needed at all. Another illusion of security in a so-called free society.
 
I thought everyonr had a general plan of action...

Mine? Put as many walls between myself and the shooter and smash a window to get out. If I'm outside, duck out of sight and out of mind. Don't play hero unless absolutely necessary, preferably being armed.

I don't need a DHS video to tell me to get out of a shooter's line of sight.

That is true. It was a nightmarish boondoggle to begin with, and has become an ineffective bureaucracy since. There are better ways to unify command over the NORTHCOM AOR.

IMO, the response is NOT political..
Both liberals and conservatives have this attitude problem.
Yes, we do over-react !
I think we should relax more, cool it, use reason and logic more......and extremism less...

I, for one am not sure about this.
Many threats have been thwarted., at quite an expense.....but what is a human life worth ???
Or 3,000 lives ?
A less expensive way is to root out hatred, fear, ignorance at the roots.
This will take time.

We did fine without that department for years and thwarted many terrorist attacks. Homeland Security is a waste of money period

Libs are the ones that constantly come up with programs to "help" people. The con agenda is about freeing people from the constraints of gov so they can help themselves. It is two entirely different ways of looking at the American populace.
 
If this video Or the other posted save........... Even One life,.......... then the video is worth its cost, & I agree with maggie in that it should be mandatory in Schools, on a child level tho, using children instead of adults except teachers, With An excape Plan formed at the time of showing the video
and It is not a bad idea, to have it in the work place, that IMo tho should be up to the Employer,

One thing I wondered, when the people were running out, what is to stop the gunman, from discarding teh gun after shooting and run out with them? I didn't see the police checking the people, other than their hands in the air
2, If I had No other choice except to use sissors, I would, even a ballpoint pen, or whatever was at hand, rather than nothing
3.I would suggest someone silence the woman screaming, as she was in that room with the 6 people, or silence anyone making noise even IF you have to knock them out, Sorry, just My op, when Endangering other people. we never Know What we will do, until faced In a situation. thanks for the Videos :)
