Should we be sending F16 fighter planes to Egypt?

Should we be sending F16 fighter planes to Egypt?

Yes, all that sand will require tons of replacement parts.

I suspect we are playing old school balance of power politics with Egypt and Libya. Egyptians and Libyans HATE each other. It is just a matter of time until those two go at it.

No, we shouldn't.

Why?

Because they will be used against Israel eventually. Sit back and watch. It was an asinine move to do this. Egypt... not even a solid ally of the U.S.

Dumbasses.

Not while a member of the Muslim Brotherhood is in charge there. Things may change down the road, but right now, I would say no. Their government is not firmly settled as it is, so we really don't know how they'll use the F-16s.

sure, with an override kill switch that only we can operate, or operates automatically if any on them get too close to Israel....

I was thinking of something like that too. Maybe an RF kill switch on the fuel pump for the engine. Then give Israel the RF frequency. Any funny business with the planes, woops no power.

What do you think?

I could care less who they are we should not sell or give our weapons to any country.Allies can turn into enemies and they could use those against our own troops and civilians.

Should we be sending F16 fighter planes to Egypt?

no. we should be sending food and medicine. that should be our new foreign policy.

What do you think?

Absolutely not. Not just because of the cost, but for the high possibility that they'll be used against us in one way or another, and that we have no business meddling in their affairs. We obviously never learn our lesson, so I suppose just sit back and enjoy the show. There's no stopping it once someone puts a signature on a piece of paper.

What about Israel? The Egyptians hate them.

Of course we should be sending Fi6s to Egypt. We have a $700 billion Military Offense budget to justify. Then somebody has to feed the Military/Industrial/Corporate complex. You do that by using up equipment because then you need replacements. We can't be using dumbass accountants that wouldn't realize that. We have to gin up some mo' money fo' the lobbyists also. This stuff don't come from thin air. It comes from air heavy with the aroma of fish.

Yeah, but Egypt won't go there. They are in strike distance of the Final Solution nukes. Egypt and Libya is a more visceral Hatfields & McCoys man on the street type of hate.

No, because arming the rest of the world will not bring any peace to the world.

To be fair, their military operates autonomously of the gov't. They have seperate leadership chains. I still disagree with giving them the birds. Just sayin.

Of course we should. Things ALWAYS turn out well when we give weapons to radical governments in the middle east.

We should continue to fulfill our end of agreements to which we have already committed. But we should certainly be more cautious about making any such arrangements in the future.

Fuel pumps are simple things. It would be hard to hide a switch or anything in that system. Better to embed it in the fly-by-wire system. That way there would be a plausible reason to have a wire linking it somewhere to the outside (to connect an antenna). The F-16 is an entirely fly-by-wire jet, no mechanical linkages, so you could have it disable that system and the plane drops out of the sky. It's what they call "negative stability," which makes the plane more maneuverable because it doesn't have to overcome it's own stability in order to move. But this requires a quadplex system to make thousands of computer controlled corrections per second. To demonstrate, grab a piece of paper and pull it through the air; it will follow behind you in a relatively flat line. Now, try to "push" the paper through the air from the back, and see what happens.

I wouldn't give Israel the code though. They could easily disable any jets within their range, or hell, any jet on any ramp anywhere if they smuggled a radio in. It would look like "an accident."

What do you think?

Absolutely. We should sell them whatever they want short of nukes. Arm their enemies too while we are at it. Make a very handsome sum too.

What do you think?

I answered yes but I dont think even remotely they are our ally. I just believe we should sell our arms to EVERYONE including the Chinease and the Russians. We should just go ahead and start really pumping weapons systems out and seeing to it every nation that wishes to be armed is using OUR equipment. Its time to put the Russians out of the arms business. I will let you guess why. Hint think counterintuitively.

No, I don't think it's such a great idea. We really shouldn't be selling military hardware to countries who aren't very staunch allies. And even with those I'd hesitate to sell them our best stuff.
