Who is your favorite Founding Father and Why? As in there is only one Choice.

Franklin.

'Cuz he's big Ben franklin and this shant be pretty
Let him instruct how they battle in the city of Philly.

Sherman

Because not very many actually lived by the value and beliefs that were bestowed as US 'mainstays' - he was the only one who didn't make a total ass out of himself or live the life of a pathetic hypocrite. . . and everyone respected him.

Jefferson, as I identify with him more strongly on ideological conepts and in personal interests. He was seemingly able to span beyond classes, and be comfortable wherever he was, and with whomever he spent his time and energy.

it is impossible for me to have one but I like Adams, Jefferson and Madison.

Don't have one exactly. I'd be showing my true colors if I in any way argue for a lesser-known signer of the Declaration of Independence and his son (future Treasure secretary for Washington and Adams), as it is my family, so ill go with Adams, portions of Hamilton (the part about taking his army and subduing the opposition was too much for my taste) and many of the other Federalists.

Ben Franklin had 22 kids--not only did he invent the lightening rod, he had one too :lamo

The others took themselves too seriously. Benny just liked to have a good time and spin a good tale.

Impossible ?
How so ?
I really have none, but if I must, its Ben Franklin....he had the intellect....as reported....

Washington, because there is a real possibility that without him we would not be a country.

George Mason for his Virginia Declaration of Rights (precursor to the Declaration of Indendence) and helping pass the Bill of Rights.

Hancock and Hamilton were also two other Charismatic Figures. I went with Washington as not only did he have to deal with the Military. But he had to deal with all those Egos as well as the Wealthy. Yet no matter how influential the others may have seemed. When George Spoke......he was like that E.F. Hutton of the day. Seems the likes of Jefferson and Franklin and their love of all things frilly and with lace. Became wallflowers when around Washington.

John Rolfe. Without him, there would be no Virginia, since the early settlers would have died from stupidity and cannibalism. He introduced "cash crops" to the settlers, and actually made something out of that ****ty swamp, drastically reducing the death rate, and continuing the English interest in the New World. Without that guy, there wouldn't have been an Adams, or a Franklin, or any of the others.

He was a bit of a hypocrite, however

With the whole slaves thing? Yeah, he could've played that better.

Nevertheless, this highlights a few of the major differences between Jefferson and today's politicians:

Not only the the slave thing, but the fact that he advocated for states rights and a small, limited government, yet, as President he buys the Louisiana Purchase before even consulting Congress.

On that one I'm going to have to quote Aldo the Apache:

Aldo: I'd make that deal.
How about you, Utivich?
You make that deal?

Utivich: I'd make that deal.

Aldo: I don't blame you.
Damn good deal.

Could ya gives a couple for those of the younger Generations.....Just sayin'! ;)

Author of the bill of rights, author of most of the federalist papers yet capable of understanding the anti-federalist concerns. Co-creator of the democratic-republican party (in opposition to Hamilton's big government Federalist party), to name a few quickies.

It's interesting that you choose men with divergent political views. Adams and Jefferson barely spoke to each other until later in life. They each felt that the other's views were antithetical to the whole idea of the United States.

It just seems like saying your favorite Presidents are Bill Clinton and George W. Bush.

Elbridge Gerry

For giving us Gerrymandering, he's had almost as big of an impact on our government than any of the others.

Probably Jefferson.

Thomas Paine for Common Sense and Agrarian Justice.
