That's true, but I think its a lesser evil in some cases than going through the process, in some states impossible, of removing the candidate's name from the ballot and getting a new candidate and campaign running for that party.
There should be Instant Runoff Voting

Then why do 90% of incumbents get re-elected if 75% of the people are against that 3rd term?

While I am annoyed by it, it's not a high priority of mine, and I'm not sure I'd support making it illegal.

Makes you wonder, doesn't it? And I believe this is why politicians ignore us. They know... we have proven... that no matter how much we piss and moan, we're going to turn around and re-elect them anyway.

I think term limit support is half people being pissy over elections not going their way, and half people subconsciously knowing they have no self control.

I don't know if it's been said yet in this thread, but most people hate congress, but not their own representatives. It's all the others they want removed.

Yes we should. Why did we place Term limits on the President after FDR but we have Congressmen and Senators that have been in office much longer then FDR was ever in office.

They already are. 3rd parties are not given equal access.

...which really makes no sense, as our own Congresspeople are doing the same things those other bad Congresspeople are doing.

Yes, but on "our" behalf, so that's different.

Personally, I'd have no problems with flushing them all. Today. And starting 100% fresh tomorrow.

It might sound like a good idea, but if we use the analogy of likening congress to a business, it wouldn't be prudent flush all the employees and start fresh.
