I think Gov. Christie will be running for president in 2016; he realizes that a far out right winger can not win a general election, so he is showing he's presidential material with his comments.

You really think that Democrats will nominate him?

LOL. That survey is from back in November.

One from less than two weeks ago. Christie's Challengers Face an Uphill Battle in 2013

73% overall approval rating. 87% of Republicans rate his performance as good or excellent. Coasting to re-election. No reason whatsoever to change parties.

He's a Republican and the Republicans would be foolish not to nominate him in my opinion. The Republican need a good honest center-right candidate if they want to win the WH.

That was an attempt at humor, yes?

I hold a faint, perhaps forlorn, hope the GOP comes back to the mainstream of politics and I also believe it is painfully obvious that neither extreme wing can get elected, the Dems couldn't back in Nixon's day and the TPs couldn't get any of their myriad of clumsy candidates past the primaries and so warped the party platform the survivor was damaged goods.

No idea who can be a strong moderate and carve out the middle for a victory, but I doubt Christie sees jumping ship as the winning strategy...

Another thought I have about Christie is that if he does become president, he'll have the nicest titties of any president since Taft.

    Re: Thoughts on Christie

The sad part about all of this is that so many people immediately attempt to classify a guy as a traitor or moderate when really all said guy is doing is expressing his honest opinion. I think it shows just how polarized of a country we live in.

if he ever had asperations of running for president on the republican ticket he can forget about it now. Maybe he and Colin Powell could run as scum sucking liberals on the democrat presidential ticket in 2016.
