I doubt it. Although he might not be able to win a national nomination at this point, his approval ratings in New Jersey are skyhigh among Republicans, Independents, and Democrats, (relatively speaking). He has a 91% approval rating by Republicans. http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/p...se_NJ_1130.pdf There's really no reason for him to switch parties, and he should win re-election easily.

I clicked on this thread only because I was curious about how many posts it would take before Christie's weight became the focus.

    Surely didn't take long.

Since then, Christie has openly condemned specifically Republicans in Congress after they would not vote for federal recovery money due to Democrats piling on all sorts of other legislation on related to the hurricane or recovery efforts.

The end of Christie. I expect him to likely switch parties for the next election.
You realize that agreeing with the other party on some counts doesn't discount Christie as a Republican, right?

    Re: Thoughts on Christie

I think Christie finally figured out that the GOP could never hope to get a president elected by thumbing their nose at most of the demographic groups needed to win an election. He has broken with the tea party and plans a more moderate campaign in 2016 than any of the losers in 2012. So, he is not stupid. But I still don't trust him any further than I could throw him!

Hey, didn't say there was anything wrong with you commenting, just amused by the comment itself. Superficial personal attack on the Governor, mindless pap. Ya HAVE to know there would be a comment made... look at the front door- Debate is in there.

And there ain't nothin' wrong with that...

I like Christie because he has the balls to tell the idiots in his party that they are ****ing idiots.

Christie had nothing to do with Romney's defeat. I'd be genuinely surprised if even a hundred thousand votes were changed by his actions.

Of the votes changed, I'd have to think most of them would be in New Jersey anyway. They certainly couldn't have comprised the entire 5.4% margins Romney would've had to make up in Colorado or Pennsylvania anyway.

I think Gov. Christie will be running for president in 2016; he realizes that a far out right winger can not win a general election, so he is showing he's presidential material with his comments.
