What is your greatest fear?

1. I don't fear death, it will come to all of us eventually.
2. I don't fear global warming, natural cycles are inevitable. We can and will adjust.
3. Crime? I will protect myself and my people. If that fails, see #1
4. Immigration? If my job gets taken, then I will find something else to do.

The government run amuck is my only concern, and I wouldn't even call that a fear.... they can and could make life very difficult for every last person in this country.

Spiders and snakes, on the other hand........

I hate rats too. My friend got her daughter one as a pet and tried to get me to touch/pet it. Ewwwwwww no!

I would have screamed the house down and ran through the wall...

I really like pet rats. They're lovely, intelligent, sweet creatures. You get a much better pet in a rat than in any other kind of rodent, I reckon. Rabbits? Stupid, unresponsive baby-eaters.

Funny thing is, I really hate wild rats. Destructive, dirty and defiant. Go figure!
I'd have a pet rat if one could be trained to kill and eat stink bugs; better yet if one could be induced to chase away the deer(another destructive pest).
Pets....
IMO, all these creatures are lousy pets, they are smart enough to be kind to humans for their own benefit (survival)..
Fear....
not our government, but
private business, big corporations determined to come as close as possible to bankrupting us and our government.
Check what the medical profession charges for operations and care..
Scandalous !

I controlled myself, but I think I would have lost it to see my daughter handle it. She only did that when I wasn't around. (The girl is her best friend.)

You are wise..otherwise you could have passed on your phobia to her..

My youngest son is into snakes..he has a carpet python..doesn't bother me at all.

Thanks! I hadn't thought of that, I just didn't want to barf when she held it. LOL Oh, that might possibly have caused a phobia too.

Interesting, I don't mind snakes either. My son caught a garter snake in the late fall one year. We had a tank and kept it through the winter, that decision had to do with the snake giving birth, no eggs, a couple days after capture. All but one of the babies survived and we released the whole kit and kaboodle of them into the green belt behind my house in the spring. What an education that was, feeding them all. Of course, it fell to me to handle them and we separated the mom from the babies from fear she would end up eating them.

yeah, i kind of feel the same way. i was very nervous when i got her, because i'd had pet mice before. most of them will bite you, and it draws blood. when i saw her teeth, though, my immediate thought was that she could conceivably take off part of my finger with those. pet store assistant promised that they don't bite like mice; they only bite when they are being hurt. this turned out to be true; she never so much as nipped me. sweet, sweet animal. with i could have had her longer; the benign tumors that plague albino rats got her.

Most folks fear public speaking above anything else. I'm surprised that's now an option :p

Being a student in college, my greatest fear is that outsourcing will take all the good paying jobs outside the US. Outsourcing has already moved plenty of engineering jobs towards the middle east, and the way its going a lot more jobs are being moved out.

Why should that be your greatest fear. Do you expect never to have to move to find a job? Conservative types have been telling people to go where the jobs are since...forever.

I fear a government that uses terrorism as an excuse to swallow my rights whole...taxation and regulation take a back seat to that.
