No ones asking you to do anything. But I would think that you should be smart enough to figure out how to hide something where you wont go to prison over it. And shooting a cop/soldier wouldnt do anything but get you killed not to mention the moral ground on that issue.

That's funny, I did my 12 years and 8 of those were in the RA.

You're right. I have no desire to spend the rest of my life in prison. I'd like to be all tough and say that I'd keep them, screw the law, but knowing me, I'd probably just comply. I'd look at them meanly though.

Big difference between banning the new sales of certain guns and taking them away from people who already own them. Even a new ban on new sales wouldn't cause much of an problem. But when you start talking about taking existing ones away, that is a whole different ball of wax. One of the few guns that I am looking at buying (need the money first) was banned in '87. I can still buy it because it still exists and the ban was on new sales.

Would we all lose in a civil war? Sure, but if the government starts going Ex Post Facto on us, we have all lost already.
 
It would really depend for me on what the penalties for not complying were. If they were relatively minor, I'd turn most in, and take my chances hiding a couple of long guns somewhere. After all, the police aren't going to have the time or manpower to do detailed searches of every gun owner in America's homes.

If it were something draconian like life in prison or the death penalty, I'd turn them in and move out of the country to somewhere that still allows gun ownership.
 
Respectfully, no. I have the right to bear arms. The right to defend myself, my family, and my property whether from craven criminal or oppressive government.

I'd say that there is a one in a hundred thousand chance that any sane man would "give up" his gun ownership.
And this is the last thing that "non-gun lovers" want....
All we want is decent control and no more assault weapons for the man on the street....period.....
We, like the conservatives , do have our fringers, our extremists....they merit being ignored.
 
No I would not. Such a law would turn me from an active participant to an active underminer of my own society.
 
I'm tossing the bull**** flag on everyone who says they wouldn't comply. No shots were fired in 1987, they were registered, people complied, and so will you. I've seen how civilians react when there's a couple gun trucks with .50cal machine guns parked outside their house. When offered the hand-out or the bullet, civilians take the hand-out every time. You're all full of ****. America has already lost because America has accepted the government hand-out. So have the States. Internet tough-guys :lol: you will cave to the almighty hand-out in the end.

I'm not being a "tough guy" to say I'd hide my guns. Similarly I'd continue my hobby of fermenting beverages even if alcohol were banned. There's just no reasonable way to enforce these ideas, especially where I live.

Yes I asked what your big plan was I did not though ask you to do anything. I just thought that it was bazaar that you of all people would just so easily give up your guns.

You know freedom isnt free you may have to soil your reputation to retain your freedoms every once and a while. In other words man up boy.....

You'd probably get more than that if you could even locate me, much less where I'd stash the guns in a ban scenario. Maybe a job with the NSA or something.

I never said you asked me to do anything. My "big plan" is simply to avoid 2 things: posessing something that will land me in jail (the only reason I'm not smoking pot at this moment....can't wait for the to be legalized), and shooting a cop/soldier. That's the "big plan", though it's not so big.

We've already lost the fight. America will become a dictatorship like every other democracy because we have accepted the hand-out. We're the big bad guard dog and the thief has placated us with a nice juicy steak while they reach for the club. The public isn't going to turn down the hand-out at this point, and that's what it will take to preserve the democracy.

I'm not one of them. There's no way in hell I'm just going to roll over and let some g-men in black uniforms take my property. If they come to my door, they better have a warrant, because they aren't coming in without one.
 
Seems easier and definitely More legal to Vote ALL,,,,,,,,,, people who want our 2nd amendment rights taken away, out of office, be prepared... start checking your state senate and congress reps where you live, down to the lowest office of councilman or sheriff- in your county and state'............ see where they stand on guns and the 2nd amendment; check and see how they previously voted on guns'. gun control and etc.
then vote on that Fact and record'
there are more people in the US who own and want to keep guns at the moment' than not', that would be in all gun owners favor ......IMO'

I have a really good friend that lives in Mexico I would rather stay and fight. I mean most likely a American dictatorship would take over Mexico anyways lol

Maybe, but their illegal immigration fines are pocket change and you get to stay so you can plan at the last minute. What would happen in my city? The police would use it as a pretext to shake down poor blacks or people they suspect to be serious criminals. Beyond that, probably not much unless you got yourself caught by stupidity.

I agree with your first two comments but I dont think that America will ever become a dictatorship, you are being a bit dramatic.
 
I would turn in my legal registered gun, take the money, and buy a replacement off of the black market.

I'd rather be caught with one than without one.

This is the future of 'merica:


I beg for the days when only people who had an investment in the country were allowed to vote. Land owners. Maybe we could modify that to allow medical professionals, non-union teachers, police, fire, and honorable military, but it won't ever happen. Equality[sup]TM[/sup] rules the day.

Yeah more tough-talk. You're full of it. You won't pull the trigger. You know it, I know it. You won't do it. When the cop is there in the flesh, you'll puss out. When the NG shows up, you won't pull the trigger because if you do your whole family will die by the .50cal parked in the street. You won't do it. You'll hand in your guns to save them.

And no, it won't be me on the .50cal. I'll refuse the order and be in Fort Leavenworth with some buddies, but others will obey the order.
