The haggardness of poverty is everywhere seen contrasted with the sleekness of wealth, the exhorted labor of some compensating for the idleness of others, wretched hovels by the side of stately colonnades, the rags of indigence blended with the ensigns of opulence; in a word, the most useless profusion in the midst of the most urgent wants.Jean-Baptiste Say

On top of that, I thought Obama's second term would be more of the same, and I didn't believe those who said that in his second term he would go extreme and push crazy crap on the country... but with this talk of him creating new gun control by fiat, by Executive Order, I'm starting to worry what else may be coming down the pike.

There are people who are, right now, watching to see what happens in this latest gun control thing, who are no-fooling-dead-serious prepared to go to war if it goes too far. I'm not talking about ignorant rednecks and loud-mouth fools, I'm talking about deadly dangerous ex-military types.

I sincerely hope it doesn't come to that.
Yea you have to watch that Y2k crowd. lol

But seriously what do these people think that they are going to do?

But I wouldnt worry about NK shooting anything at us. They would need more than one nuke emp to wide out the entire nations power grid. And so far they havent made any large enough nukes to do much more than wipe out the electronics in one city mush less the entire country. But then they would have to launch from their country then somehow get that launch to slip by without us noticing. But that will never happen since they are under heavy surveillance to detect any launches that were unannounced.

And why would NK do such a thing? Would they not be wiped off the map for even attempting to use a nuke on anyone and even more so on the US? Most likely China would act to stop NK from even thinking about doing something straight out conspiracy theories. In fact the entire idea is laughable.

No, if a bunch of right wing lunatics decide to declare war on my country, the lines wouldn't be blurred for me any more than they would have been blurred in 1861.

The gun worshippers aren't concerned about hunting or personal protection. They are concerned about being well armed enough to take on the 'jack booted thugs of the dreaded Federal Government'. Yes, we know they're nuts but that's their concern.

Re: Is the United States Nearing a Civil War?

It would be sad to see people use guns to try to keep the president from doing anything. Al that would happen is cause actual control laws to be imposed and most likely there would be actual public support to keep these idiots of the streets. I mean who exactly are these idiots going to attack?

AT this point the proposal of civil war is jumping the gun by a long shot any violent action would remove the 2nd Amendment and I would blame the radicals on the Right for being stupid and causing the removal of our right to bear arms.

Come on people use some logic. Obama is acting with the excuse that some psychos gave him by using guns in mass shootings. If Right wingers go all nuts and shoot people they will be giving Obama the go ahead to take even more rights away with a new excuse that Right wingers gave them. And really how far do you think these people could get against our military?

I suspect that there would be a lot of dead Right wingers by all was said and done and the the Republican party would fold.

Are you just gonna start shooting at the local police. How are you going to communicate with others. You can't use cell phones, they have GPS and you'll be located pretty quick, Where are you going to hide, where will you put a command post. And of course you know that as soon as you shoot the first police officer, or the first innocent neighbor, or blow up the first building you'll be considered domestic terrorists. At that point you can probably expect a late night visit from a well trained, well armed Seal Team. The best you'll be able to somewhat count are a bunch of fat, lazy ignorant loud mouth rednecks.
Hey, those guys running around in the woods with their camoflauge uniforms and their semi-automatic rifles look like a real threat to me!

They'd last about ten minutes against real soldiers, and 9 of those would be taken up finding them.

The morality of abortion is not a religious belief, any more than the morality of slavery, apartheid, rape, larceny, murder or arson is a religious belief. These are norms of the natural law of mankind and can be legislated even in a completely religionless society.

Why don't you check other threads out and see who thinks who should die, its not conservatives from what I've read.

I leave in Europe. I've never heard about Alex Jones. Who's this guy? For sure, if he were at the origin of a possible civil war in the USA, we would have his name sometimes in the media over here. So don't worry: not even close.

You're talking a lot of bull**** now, take it down a couple notches.
