In a thread about civil war, you wrote that if "some lines are crossed", "nothing good will happen." Vague references to repercussions in a thread about violence make you look like the crazy one.

Do you have lines that if someone crosses them, that you will not tolerate? Will that reaction be good? You can call me crazy all you like but the fact is everybody has a line where they will fight back. You dont back people in a corner and not expect them not to fight, that is insanity. The right to defend oneself is a basic human perogitive if not right.

By the way if you are going to quote me would you be so kind as to do me the same courtesey I did you and provide the whole qoute so people understand what we are discusing.

There are people who believe, as I do, that the country should strive as much as possible to not be in debt and that part of the road to this goal is to have rational tax program that while being progressive, demands contributions by all.

There are those who believe that the size of the debt makes no difference and that the need to pay taxes is the responsibility of someone else.

People in the former group take pride in making their own way, paying for their own living and not being a burden on others.

People in the later group demand as a birth right the standard of living that they envy enough to want, but not enough to earn.

Those of us who are never defined as wealthy by any politician, but have worked since they were children and have judiciously saved and planned are just a tad upset that others who lived life like a sailor on the three day leave are demanding that they reap the reward without ever making the sacrifice.

For the first time in my life, I am seriously considering buying and owning a gun. I am worried that there is trouble coming. There is only so much stupid in the world and when it runs out and the rest of the world sees that the Emperor has no clothes, we're screwed.

What lines are being close to being crossed?
The haggardness of poverty is everywhere seen contrasted with the sleekness of wealth, the exhorted labor of some compensating for the idleness of others, wretched hovels by the side of stately colonnades, the rags of indigence blended with the ensigns of opulence; in a word, the most useless profusion in the midst of the most urgent wants.Jean-Baptiste Say

Its one thing to fight a war overseas, its another to fight in and around your homes with your families at stake and targeted. That goes for both sides. Those kind of wars get into the kind of ugly you dont want to know about. One of the first things to go is normalcy. In order for the government to find those people they would have to take away civil liberty. You would not be able to come and go as you please and a whole other lot of bad things. I would not wish it on just anybody.
I think you'd find that in any fight between 'the people' and the Government, if 'the people' are the right wing nutjobs that keep talking about taking up arms against the government, there'd be a lot of 'us people' on the government's side.

And what if they are just regular folk who get sick and tired of being lied to, stolen from and chastised for not bending over a little more willingly?

I am afraid I have been educated to the ways of war the hard way. The lines and sides have a way of becoming blurred.

    1. If I go in a thread about violence and start talking about repercussions for crossing whatever lines I may have, then you can tell me I look like the crazy one because I will. That probably won't happen though because I'm more interested in using words and votes than guns to get my message across.

    2. If people want to see your entire quote, then they can click the blue arrow next to your name and go there themselves. I don't know if you've noticed, but it's a pattern on here than when a person sees a part of a quote that interests them, they single it out and address it specifically. That's what I did. If you're determined to read anything more into that, then that's your problem. I suggest you get over it.
