Worst come to worse you could make your own, just probably wont be nearly as effective as the "real" stuff

Reloaded cartridges are just as effective/reliable/powerful as retail, in fact you can safely make the loads quite hotter (more powder, muzzle velocity, terminal ballistics)

They just might not be as consistent until you've gotten the hang of it.

Where ya gonna get the depleted uranium? Modern ammo is more than just a slug of steel propelled by gunpowder.

lol @ that, I own a great deal of modern guns and ammunition, none of which has depleted uranium. Nor have I ever seen it for sale in the reloading section of any gun store.

Have you heard of any domestic law enforcement agency that uses depleted uranium? Or a round of it ever having killed an American in America? Just what caliber bullet do I need depleted uranium for?

We are talking about the main armaments on tanks not rifles or handguns, you know 75-120mm cannon

Any 9/11 Truther is a nut in my book.

Lol, using depleted uranium is a death sentence to use, btw. It's intention was as a last resort ammo...

When you said high tech bullets I thought you meant like the "smart bullets" (laser guided bullets that travel to the target range and explode like a grenade)...

That's just not true. You can read about the military applications of DU here. It was the goto material for any penetrating ammo. Certain applications are being replaced with tungsten now, but DU use still remains.

Especially after the WHO found there to be no risk of human health problems from DU.

NP, there misunderstandings happen :)
Uranium was first to mind as the most readily understood by everyone with all the media attention they got. I didnt know if you or anyone else would necessarily undersand some of the terms used such as HEAT, TP-T heres a good site to get an idea of how much more than just a slug of steel propelled by gunpowder they are:
120mm Ammunition

clownboy is correct

You mean about depleted uranium having no health implications?

I just want to make sure before I add any comments beyond the "are you for real?!?".

Really?!? You honestly believe that??

Yes. Jump off the "I'm Soooo Scared" bandwagon. The health hazzard is in the dust (and not as severe or as persistent as the scared ones pump themselves up to believe), but no worse than all the heavy metals non-DU ammo is made from. A battlefield is not an environmentally friendly place.

The real healthrisk is when they are being used for thier original intent, killing people and breaking stuff.

Ya, I get that... And I'm not afraid, I'm not exposed anyway.

And yes, battlefields are inherently dangerous places...

But, who am I to try and convince you that poison will kill you... Go ahead, keep using the stuff, and when you are blind by 35 and pissing and ***ing blood, hardly able to get out of bed without medical help, well, think back to when you were told that depleted uranium is still highly toxic... And more toxic than typical lead rounds.

(of course I mean for the user, naturally the targets are intended to die).

And keep in mind, it's not what you are exposed to, it's how much is ingested that causes the real problems.

But no, let's just trust the government telling you that DU is comparable to lead... Again, I don't care so much since for myself, it doesn't concern me... But it does concern me in that I want all our soldiers to serve honorably and then return to live a long and healthy life, the same I wish to most.

But like I said, who am I to tell you to not use a highly effective ammunition, even if you'd rather remain in denial that it's a two way weapon... One way immediate, the other a slow kill.

Ya, but I don't care about the intended targets, I just don't think that our soldiers should be treated as other machinery where it is used and then once their time is fulfilled they are effectively (or completely) destroyed so that it can't be used against (those controlling the army / government).
